seeing conservative men debate how to dress online is very funny. can't dress up or wear interesting casualwear bc you've made any visible interest in dress to be a sign of homosexuality. but you feel the need to dress better bc you've linked dress to respectability. a prison of your own making.

The image is of a four panel comic. The title reads "Poltergeist".
In the first panel we see a woman with a worried expression on her face. She says, "stuff keeps moving around my house."
In the second panel the same woman says "I'm terrified. I can't sleep."
In the third panel we see a ghost holding a candle and a pillow that reads "live laugh love". The ghost is zooming through the house.
In the fourth panel we see the same ghost hanging up a frame and thinking, "home decor is my passion".

I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:
Screenshot of a Tweet from Pope Leo XIV. It reads:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgen to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

This is the key slide. Scotland NHS now categorises SARS-CoV2 as R1, which apparently means that it no longer causes severe disease, no longer spreads in the community, and there is vaccination and prophylaxis available. We're in for an *interesting* winter methinks.
Slide from Cat in the Hat's thread on Xitter:

from Appendix 11 of Scotland's IPC guidance document.

Table shows that patients with coronavirus infection (Sars-CoV-2) with respiratory symptoms should be placed in a single en-suite room, that staff should wear FRSM as respiratory protection, and that the respiratory categorisation is R1.

Footnote:
The categorisation of infectious respiratory agents into the categories R1, R2 and R3 are informed by the UK Health and Safety Executive’s Approved List of Biological Agents:

• R1 = respiratory infectious agents that can cause human disease and may be a hazard to employees; if exposed but they are unlikely to spread to the community and there is usually effective prophylaxis or treatment available.

• R2 = respiratory infectious agents that can cause severe human disease and may be a serious hazard to employees if exposed;
they may spread to the community; but there is usually effective prophylaxis or treatment available.

• R3 = respiratory infectious agents that cause severe human disease and are a serious hazard to employees if exposed; they are likely to spread to the community; and there is usually no effective prophylaxis or treatment available.

A key component of the Cambridge Analytica outrage was your friends subjecting you to data theft without your consent or knowledge. Facebook is running the same playbook on your text messages. Even if you’re not on Meta properties, they’re ingesting your interactions.
Aten installed Muse on both his iPhone and a Mac mini that he uses to test out various Al agents and tech. It took Meta a single day to begin "helpfully" pitching article ideas based on texts he'd sent to a podcast co-host.
When he asked Muse how it got the information, it said that it read banners from incoming texts. But that's not true, either.
After doing a little digging, Aten says Muse synced 187,000 lines from his Messages database, despite Full Disk Access being Off.Unless Aten is the most popular person on the face of the planet, I sincerely doubt he'd gotten 187,000 lines of text in roughly 24 hours. What happened is that, without permission, Muse went into the app and downloaded the information.
He had not given Muse permission to access Messages, and full disk access was not enabled. It just went ahead and uploaded those texts anyway.
Muse can take "unexpected actions" indeed.

November 1348: At the height of the Black Death, people flocked to plague-riddled Canterbury to purchase a pilgrim badge — a medieval ampulla filled with water tinged with the blood of Saint Thomas Becket — in the hope it would help heal them.

Historian Dan Snow:
"It's desperately sad to think of people going to all this effort to avoid the plague, to try to save themselves, actually might have put themselves in harm's way."

Dr Cressida Lang:
"Inevitably, but the draw to come here to seek healing and comfort was just so strong."
