🤡 Schmitt beclowns himself 🤡 Schmitt concocted an elaborate conspiracy theory that Smith traveled to Atl for a Hawks game and to collude with Fani Willis, & flashed his "evidence" before accusing Smith of perjury. There's just one problem -- his facts were totally wrong. Here's the whole sequence:

Last month, we refurbished 10 tennis courts in Crotona Park — the only public tennis courts in the Bronx with lights for night play. We stopped by recently to see how things were going. Thank you to NYJTL, USTA and Yonex for helping us deliver high-quality public spaces that New Yorkers deserve.

Please stop overestimating what a democratic Congress can do. The oligarchs are spending money to make you think a Dem Congress can arrest people and hold trials and pass laws without a POTUS signature so that you’ll be disappointed when they don’t do stuff they can’t do. Don’t fall for it.

This is the backdrop to tomorrow's Fed meeting. Global 10-year yields have been rising sharply. Markets are in a state of agitation. They want central banks to be unambiguously hawkish and hike a lot. There's no way Warsh can live up to that. Dangerous... robinjbrooks.substack.com/p/the-global...

The big debate is whether the rise in global yields is benign and about growth or whether it's about countries running out of fiscal space and thus more worrying. I'm in the latter camp and in my view signs are plentiful we're seeing a fiscal debt shock... robinjbrooks.substack.com/p/the-global...

If you're wondering if the global bond market sell-off is about growth or fiscal space, just look at how markets are trading. High-debt countries are getting hit much harder than low debt ones. We're in a global debt shock. Not a global growth shock... robinjbrooks.substack.com/p/the-global...

To me, the straw man of whether slop machines will go wild and kill us all boils down to: they want us to care about something undetermined that is not yet to come and will end us all, but they won't even acknowledge the environmental consequences which are very specific, very real, and happen now

Let's do a reading experiment. substack.com/@sarahkendzi...
The “folks don’t read long-form writing anymore” takes ignore the biggest change: paywalls. Podcasts, Tik Toks, and memes are free. Long-form, thoughtful writing is often prohibitively expensive. Articles need to be as accessible as possible if you want folks to appreciate the written word.

I keep my newsletter free for all. Those who can pay, do. Those who can’t afford to pay can also read everything. No one is priced out. If I can make this work as one woman in Missouri, why can’t giant corporations do it? Take down the paywalls for one week as an experiment and see if folks get more informed and start reading longer works again.
