Always loved listening to @kelseyhightower.com . Another banger: www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7WF... The knowledge erosion aspect is a key one for me ... is this like how we say "no one knows how to build a game engine anymore"? Either way, entropy always wins & skill atrophy too

It has been criminally underreported but Kelsey Pfendler has just rowed solo across the Pacific Ocean from the US coast to Hawaii in record time. A 2,400-mile unsupported journey in 43 days, 17 hours, and 55 minutes. Notably beating the Men’s record by 9 whole days.

Yesterday the @bsky.app made my day ❤️❤️❤️! The status page says reginos instead of regions and also broken grammar! This means some dev actually wrote this and it’s not all E2E AI! Someone actually wrote this! Feels personal! I can’t explain the joy this gave me, it’s irrational.
Screenshot of the bsky status webpage showing a small typo in the text indicating that a human and not AI actually wrote it

If LLMs become the "best way to produce software", we will need open alternatives or alternatives made in the Global South. I just saw a post where someone spend 5 USD on a problem. 5 USD is a lot of money in the Global South.

It’s not hyperbolic to say AI is a multiplier. A multiplier multiplies. I’m seeing more people just getting better are “meta-work” and large volumes of mediocre work. If you don’t know where you are going you will just go further in random directions. The real problems don’t go away.

When using LLMs, it's very important to give clear instructions. Spec-driven development is the future. For example, a clear prompt to add two numbers could look like: ADD a TO b ON SIZE ERROR DISPLAY "Error" This specifies the overflow as well.

@todoist.com , can we get description for projects? This could be a game changer! Often projects need a short description (or a long one), and we have to put it in a doc elsewhere… and have to juggle tools. I wouldn’t need google docs for project spec documents, my team can just live in Todoist!
