I'm currently researching what would happen if something like the sword of sargeras from WoW would be put into a planet. I can already say that the thing that happened in the game is not what would really happen. But what I also can say, Azeroth has a radius of about 24 kilometers max.

I think there is a blessing in not knowing how to do stuff in video editing software. Im just getting started with editing a few clips of my guild doing random stuff in WoW raids (i know, nerd lol) and it's hilarious how bad I am at editing, so the clips are super bad aswell. Makes them even better.

I thought this was a pretty interesting take from Codeberg's announcement of their anti-LLM policy They argue that many developers using LLMs are essentially heaven-banning themselves where they don't realize they're developing for a nonexistent community

# The development team of none

Using LLMs to work with your code gives you a kick of adrenaline. You can develop at a rapid pace, build things as if you had a large team. Only that you have none. In fact, you are (often) alone, working with a statistical machine that turns energy into code.

It seems like many ‘vibe coders’ don't realize that they don't actually have a community around them. They build projects as if they had, and spend resources accordingly. We see projects having a lot of code activity, heavy CI/CD testing, frequent and large release binaries. Sometimes, it feels like the amount of supported platforms exceeds the amount of actual users.

To us, it seems ridiculous to see projects with a single developer and virtually no users consuming as much or even more resources than some of the largest community projects on Codeberg, which operate frugal with CI/CD and storage resources. We do not believe it is reasonable for Codeberg to invest our precious donation money into hosting of large ghost projects.

I really enjoy being invited to events like birthday parties or weddings, but my social battery needs a long time to recover. I feel hungover for multiple days after such 12-24 hour events and I don't even drink alcohol most of the time. After a wedding marathon I now need rest for like 10 weeks lol

@godotengine.org what are you doing? I really like that you have a solid stance against AI but using AI for stuff like find and replace or regex where we have tools that do exactly this but deterministically like, actual find and replace and regex, is an error source you didnt even know existed.

Putting trillions into AI to make work MoRe EfFiCiEnT and instantly adopting the tech is apparently a smart idea. But stop using bloated ass web frameworks and starting using programming languages which actually make developers more productive instead of Python, JS/TS or PHP is basically impossible.

Do they think so little of themselves that they can't imagine learning things and just start building? Building stuff is not magic, especially programming is super easy. All information is free.

Our stance on all AI generated content (Images, Video, Voiceovers, and whatever else LLM based AI gets up to in the future):

At best, they are approximations of street fighter characters as the AI has no clue what it is trying to create. Because of this, there is no street fighter content so they are not allowed. (rule 1)

Also, they aren't allowed per our source rule. As AI sources cannot be tracked, we must assume that they use uncredited sources in the learning data. (rule 5)

Finally, AI images, video, text, and voiceovers are barely any different than posting a screenshot of a google search. The level of effort is so low that we consider it spam (rule 3).

Because of these reasons, AI art and other AI content is not allowed.

Same in Software engineering. Just look at any repository in GitHub and search for the commit that added an AGENT.md file. Afterwards the quality just tanks. I'm not a tin foil boii but it looks like deskilling experts is an actual goal of those companies.

What I don't get about AI Bros and vibe coders. They specify exactly in detail to the LLM which directory of the project is meant for random ass markdown files because otherwise it wouldn't understand anything about anything. But they let them loose on their codebase like "this is fine lol".

I entered a game jam where you have to create a TTRPG instead of a video game. It's incredible hard to come up with a novel skill check mechanic. I always have the feeling that every possible mechanic is already invented. Then I look at some indi TTRPG and there is SO MUCH novel stuff. Incredible

Trying to get a toolchain ECL -> C -> Emscripten -> WASM to run is fun. Especially If you don't know shit about 2/3 of those things and you don't know If it's even possible. But I learn a lot of ways to segfault a program which is nice. Bonus: ecl generated C looks nearly as bad as LLM code lol
