I wonder how well CI -aaS platforms are doing these days. Do their backs hurt from all the cartoon moneybags they have to carry around? If you're using CI, check your dashboard to see how much more execution is being driven by ol' claudie-claude

We have a team of four astronauts going to the moon and back, but there's a group of people online concerned with how Apple and Nutella may not capitalize on the marketing opportunity since their products are being used in space... The grindset is real and I don't know how I feel about it

This reads like a lot of the "do you really need jQuery?" Articles from 10-15 years ago I'm so happy with how far CSS has come blog.gitbutler.com/the-great-cs... Great writeup!

The Great CSS Expansion

UpdateWithSideEffects I'm working on upgrading an older repo from an even older version of ReasonML The amount of buggy code caused by untangling reducer calls with side effects is through the roof I remember when the team begrudgingly added in the escape hatch, many moons ago, how dirty we felt

Since HTML, CSS and JS are so fault tolerant and backwards compatible, does that rub off on frontend people? Do we feel more accommodating? More empathetic?

It's been over a decade since my team launched messenger.com - I made some great friends on that team. Today I noticed the sunset banner and felt incredible nostalgia and longing. I'll be using the heck out of this little webapp that could until it goes
Messenger.com won't be available after April 14, 2026 but you can continue your conversations on the mobile app and on Facebook.

After manually(!) reviewing prolly some 50k lines of ai generated slop code this past year: Writing code that does what you want it to do is kinda easy these days, albeit at a junior to mid level Getting LLMs to help you properly refactor is quite a frontier. It's absolutely not solved

A few days ago, I started focusing on photography again. I dusted off my very old camera (Sony a6000) and took it out for a spin Found this cheeky #hummingbird
A hummingbird photographer from behind, perched on a long narrow leaf with a classic downtown office building in the background. The low sun is barely illuminating the left half of the bird as it appears to look over its shoulder back at the camera

Turns out, writing a little service in #golang to generate a PNG with DisplayP3 colors is a) fun and b) moot since @bsky.app seems to strip the iccp from the PNG Anyway, I made a little bot that posts daily oklch colors: @p3-colours.bsky.social

I'm old enough to have used mm Dreamweaver and get annoyed at the code it generated. Figma Sites seems like a great way to get a prototype up and running, but the majority of the generated code would need to be thrown away in order to ship a good website

I decided to learn a bit of go lang by making a small http service to generate pngs from font awesome's font and I'm quite surprised at how easy and almost elegant everything was. I'm really impressed with how cool the getting started resources are

Let's integrate Twilio into an existing React Native app that has no custom native modules. The amount of magic config and the scattered documentation is making it downright annoying. Do I know anyone who's done something like this who could answer a couple of questions?

Is there a service that can "watch" an edited video and its source(s) and determine if the edited video is misleading or taking things out of context or not aligned with the source material? Should we build it?

I'm quite impressed with what just happened in Romania. The latest election was mired in interference issues and irregularities. The front runner is one of those "Putin did nothing wrong" guys. The Romanian Supreme Court simply said "fuck no, do-over some other time"

Two things about altitude sickness I learned in Peru: 1) 3.8km altitude gain in a day will put you on your ass, idc how fit you are 2) don't cut back on caffeine because "you're on holiday" I bounced back so quickly after I started drinking coffee like in the office (too much) Hope this helps
