goooood morning it is brisk and bright and we ran into this little lady’s favorite kid-friends, so between the weather, the cuddles, and the crows keeping us company, yes: Lucy Loved That Walk
Big fluffy black and tan husky mix sitting in the sun, squinting and waiting for a snack while some crows hang out behind her, waiting for the overflow.Same scene, now with dog sticking out her tongue. Yes, I live on a very steep hill. But now there is a piece of poptart flying toward her and she has it On Lock. She snatches it out of the sky, the moment preserved an instant before it lands in her mouth.

Did you know you only need a small brain to make silly little drawings?
4 panel comic:
Panel 1: pink blob guy on a table, pencil in their hands. Grey circle on a piece of paper and a glass of water on the table. They say “look here”
Panel 2: Proudly, they hold up the drawing of a grey blobby character on two stick legs up in the air. The pink blob says “I drew this!”
Panel 3: Satisfied they sit back down on the table. They now go “it’s not much, but..” The grey drawing looks a bit peeved because the drawer is calling it “not much”
Panel 4: But it’s okay, because now the pink blob is very pleased finally. He says “it came from my brain!” Holding the pencil up. The grey drawing blob is happy again, too. End well, all well!

🌸 frogfruit 🌿 Phyla lanceolata #nativeplants #ecoregion71
a little flowerspike, seen from above, with ten tiny blooming flowers in a ring around its periphery. eight of the flowers are pink with red throats, while two are white with yellow throats. the flowers have five lobes: two little ones on top which often appear merged, two lateral lobes, and a bottom lobe longer and wider than the rest. just within the mouth of each flower there are two pairs of minute stamens. two little flowerspikes with blooming flowers (& a third still budding), seen mostly from the side. the lower spike has three blooming flowers, all white with yellow throats. the other, higher flowerspike has ten blooming flowers that are a mix of white with a yellow throat and pink w a red throat. the flowerspikes grow at the end of long green flowerstems; their origins are unseen or out of frame. however, it seems the budding spike on the lower right grows from an on-screen leaf axil. the frogfruit's green, opposite leaves are lance-shaped with margins toothed, especially on the half of the leaf nearer the tip. a dense mat of frogfruit; the view is filled with opposite pairs of green, lance-shaped, toothed leaves. the verdant expanse is occasionally broken by small flowerspikes bearing tiny flowers, a handful or so blooming simultaneously on each spike. some of the flowers are pink with red throats, others are white with yellow throats. it seems to be random, the two colors of flower commingle on each flowerspike.

Peat moss can never be sustainably harvested, plus it's highly acidic & offers virtually no nutrients for your plants & it's sterile so it kills beneficial soil microbes. #JustSayNOtoPeat Read this article with more details: www.nytimes.com/2020/10/09/climate/peat-climate-change.html

Close up photo of a tiny mite walking across a wet, muddy brown surface on the shore. This was the underside of a rock near LLanelli. Its body is a smooth, glossy, orange brown oval, longer than it is wide, that shines in the light. Paler orange legs and mouthparts reach forward to the left.
