i am genuinely bewildered by people who say that the rise of white nationalism in the republican party is a response to the "woke left." like, did the woke left cause pat buchanan's 1992 presidential campaign? is the woke left why steve king had a long career in congress?

This is a pogrom, incited and instigated by Elon Musk. This is now the second set of pogroms incited by Elon in the UK in 2 years.

A screenshot of a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Elon Musk (@elonmusk) quoting a post by a user named Tommy Robins... (@TRobinsonN...).
Elon Musk's post reads:
> "Only by protesting REPEATEDLY and LOUDLY will there be any change!!"
>
The quoted post by Tommy Robinson reads:
> "The whole of the United Kingdom is hitting the streets tonight at 7pm following yet another invader attack on our people.
> It's time 🇬🇧"
>
Attached to the quoted post is a graphic split into two columns detailing protest locations for "7:00 PM TONIGHT":
 * **The left side** features a long, numbered list of cities and specific meeting points across the UK, such as "LONDON - PARLIAMENT SQUARE" and "MANCHESTER - ST. PETER'S SQUARE".
 * **The right side** is titled "MASS PROTEST TONIGHT" and lists specific roads and roundabouts, mostly in Northern Ireland, marked as "CLOSED 7PM" (e.g., "CLOUGHFERN ROUNDABOUT CLOSED 7PM").
 * At the bottom right, there is a prominent yellow box with a storefront icon that reads, "ALL BUNNESSES TO CLOSE AT 5.30 PM TONIGHT NO EXCUSES", with the word "businesses" misspelled as "bunnesses".

Feels important to add right now: Misoprostol-only abortions are also incredibly effective, but tend to come with more side effects and discomfort. This doesn’t end people’s access to medication abortion—a big target because it allows care in restricted states—but it does make people suffer more.

In its decision, the court said the law, as applied to talk therapy, impermissibly interferes with free speech.
"Colorado may regard its policy as essential to public health and safety," Justice Neil M.
Gorsuch wrote for himself and seven other justices from across the ideological spectrum.
"But the First Amendment stands as a shield against any effort to enforce orthodoxy in thought or speech in this country."

In Minnesota, all of the ideological cornerstones of MAGA have been proved false at once. Minnesotans, not the armed thugs of ICE and the Border Patrol, are brave. Minnesotans have shown that their community is socially cohesive - because of its diversity and not in spite of it. Minnesotans have found and loved one another in a world atomized by social media, where empty men have tried to fill their lonely soul with lies about their own inherent superiority. Minnesotans have preserved everything worthwhile about "Western civilization," while armed brutes try to tear it down by force."

DHS's assistant secretary for public affairs denied posting an except of the song "We'll Have Our Home Again" to The New York Times, after I pointed out to the reporter they shared it on Instagram. She said it had "no relation" to the song performed by members of the Mannerbund. (It does.)
A Homeland Security spokeswoman, Tricia McLaughlin, said that if the ICE recruiting post were actually about the song, it “would be a problem” and “morally repugnant.” But, she said, the post had no relation to the white-supremacist anthem.

“There are plenty of references to those words in books and poems,” she said, adding that she was “in charge of everything” posted on the department’s social media accounts.

But when the post was opened on Instagram’s mobile app, audio from the chorus of the song played in the background. After a reporter pointed this out, Ms. McLaughlin said The Times was participating in a left-wing conspiracy theory.

“I’m telling you it’s not there,” she said.
