Fundamentally, I think that this whole episode shows that -- as adept as may have been in the past -- Farage is now out of his depth. First, he gets himself into this mess. Second, he comes out with an easily refutable lie to save face. And none of it resolves the corruption allegations around him.

Understand, this is the Reform leadership purposely attacking the accountability structures that functional democracies rely on this. What they're doing is fundamentally anti-democratic, not just political gamesmanship. Don't expect them to be any different if they win the general election.
