Also you can see the remnants of the Saucerer in the skybox below the map. Further confirmation that canonically the multiplayer takes place after the Lylat Wars are over.

Every single election, even if it’s a local primary that likely won’t be a big thing, I listen to Sister Suffragette and think about what a recent thing women’s suffrage is. Women had to FIGHT and got the right to vote in the US in 1920. Not very long ago. youtu.be/K0SDECwO54E?...

if you begin feminist history at #MeToo then it's easy to despair that nothing has changed (or that some things have actually gotten worse). if you take a much longer view though things have changed so much! the little gestures we make today are adding up to something we can't see yet!

The midterms are being flooded with dark money & Trump is doing everything he can to suppress the vote. But remember — WE THE PEOPLE outnumber Trump and his billionaire backers. Keep phoning. Keep canvassing. Keep getting out the vote for candidates on the side of working people. It is essential.

Unfortunately sexual assault is endemic on college campuses. I’m lucky enough to have not experienced it but I remember people in my dorm describing their assaults at frat parties super casually, like oh this guy rubbed his dick on me, what are you gonna do 🤷‍♀️ and it pisses me off so much

screen grabbed text:

All of this has led a certain sect of the “AI safety” movement, which is largely made up of effective altruists, to warn about “model welfare” and to insist that AI chatbots might be having a bad time. They suggest this, of course, as they insist upon building AI chatbots and agents whose main function is to do work that is tedious for humans to do

I was in queue for NYC Zelda tickets way before the time to order. Took about 45 min to get through to my turn to order and basically everything was already sold out unless you can afford $250 tickets in bad places. And those even sold out near immediately. Rip, guess I'm not seeing it.

I’m not making a statement about the definition of art, which would be foolish, as art is not definable in such simple terms. I am drawing a distinction between past social and legal responses to new forms of media, and the modern response to “A.i.”

When I was a kid I wanted to study aliens. That desire has been satisfied 10x over by studying the past. Even more so because, unlike aliens, which are by definition *out there,* studying past life feels almost akin to a spiritual practice. These are, in a strange and surreal sense, our own history

Magical creatures don’t exist, eh? Roughly 400 million years ago, before the birth of trees, there were giant mystery cones called “Prototaxites,” which grew nearly 30 feet tall. We literally have no idea what they were. Plant: no Mushroom: no Animal: no Tell me this isn’t a little bit magic

Sony (the entire company) skipping CES is a big deal. But framing it up through PlayStation makes no sense at all because just like the rest of the gaming industry, PlayStation abandoned CES for E3 back in 1995. E3 literally exists because the gaming industry outgrew being "just a part" of CES.

The trans women in sports panic has got to be one of the GOP's most successful manufactured culture war campaigns. Somehow they got a lot of people who would otherwise say they support trans rights to somehow fear "fairness" in sports. It's a non-issue.
