Some of my reviews are sequels to others
Marvel’s Wolverine is so easy that I, a reviewer widely and courteously respected on the social media platform X for being real about my struggles with a recent samurai game, cranked Wolverine’s difficulty up one level harder than the default. And it was still a cinch. Marvel’s Wolverine is a game that’s so easy that, on default difficulty, an enemy can begin their attack, you can press the wrong button to parry, then the right one and still parry in time.

Lots and lots of discussion about this story I ran on Friday, but, understandably, a bit less about one of the fun facts below the paywall...
Bonus LeBron James-related detail: Sony’s newest filings include information about the gamer plaintiffs, confirming its internal records about when they agreed to PlayStation’s terms of service. In that context, they confirm that one of the plaintiff’s PSN handles is iSuedLeBronJames. And, sure enough, that plaintiff did that in 2025, claiming that the basketball players’ tweet about a “second decision” led them to think James was retiring, which in turn led them to spend nearly $900 on Lakers tickets to see James end his run. They later realized the tweet was a promo for a Hennesy liquor ad campaign. (The plaintiff then dropped the suit when a sports betting company paid them that same amount).

My story yesterday about Bit Reactor was prompted by my discovery of a 2024 lawsuit between co-founders of the studio that's still ongoing. In it, among other things, the origin story of the studio and its game. Here's an excerpt from that portion of my article:
From Foertsch’s telling in the court documents:

“In approximately spring 2020, Foertsch received a phone call from an individual whose initials are ‘VZ.’... (It is Foertsch’s understanding that Kelly had given his (Foertsch’s) phone number to VZ.)’”

It continues:

“During that call, VZ said that he had heard that Foertsch had a game that he (Foertsch) wanted to make and, after Foertsch described the Game at considerable length to VZ, VZ asked Foertsch to pitch the Game to Zampella using a Respawn-owned ‘IP.’’

“Based on that call with VZ, Foertsch himself made a custom pitch deck of the Game using a Respawn-owned IP. Foertsch then pitched that deck to three separate Respawn representatives.

“During a call following those pitches, VZ informed Foertsch that Respawn had decided not to publish the Game under the particular IP that in which Foertsch had already pitched the Game, but wanted Foertsch to pitch the Game to Respawn under a different Respawn-owned IP, namely ‘Star Wars.’”
