I want the Prime Minister to look into a TV camera and say the RNLI are heroes, that we do not change policy by street violence in this country, and that he expects any criminal action to face the full force of the law. That's it. That's all he has to do.

Things the emergency alert system should be used to warn us about: - Approaching inter-continental ballistic missiles - Wildfires moving into your local area - Episodes of 'Mrs Brown's Boys' being broadcast

Also, that was not an okay use of the emergency system. It's for "shit's going down, you need to act now" situations The risk of wildfires is really bad, yes, I'm not doubting it, but that's not the system to use.

A fun thing I can do is create test users in the preview database. This is what AI thinks today’s new creation Pomodoro Waitrose looks like.
The AI interpretation of the name Pomodoro Waitrose.

Pomodoro Waitrose sounds like a very posh tomato-themed minor aristocrat.

They’d probably look like this:

A tall, impeccably dressed person in a linen blazer the colour of passata, with a crisp white shirt, olive-green trousers, and loafers they describe as “casual” despite costing £240. Their hair would be glossy and swept back like they’ve just stepped out of a Tuscan deli advert.

They’d carry a reusable Waitrose bag containing:

* San Marzano tomatoes
* sourdough
* basil in a little pot
* one suspiciously expensive bottle of olive oil
* a receipt long enough to suggest poor impulse control

Their vibe would be: “I’m just popping in for milk” but emerges with burrata, heritage carrots, and opinions about tinned tomatoes.

They might introduce themselves as:

“Pomodoro Waitrose. Food writer, allotment enthusiast, and reluctant podcast guest.”

Basically: a tomato who went to private school.

In a non-jury trial, 3 accused have been found non guilty of the murder of my good friend Lyra McKee. Judge argued that guilt couldn’t be beyond a reasonable doubt. We always needed someone to testify. It never happened. Everyday I think of how much we’ve lost. Her courage and talent. Her laugh.

Happy Pride to this Caravaggio self-portrait that made one man so gay he had to go to the hospital
Caravaggio's Baccus painting, featuring a lush fruity spread and leaves bedecking a pasty twink who only works out his armsArticle screenshot that says:

The most extreme examples of
Stendhal syndrome share a sensation of
self-fragmentation. Magherini
describes the case of a 53-year-old
German man who was hospitalized
after repeatedly viewing Caravaggio's
Bacchus at Uffizi Gallery. The patient
felt "an attraction closer and closer to
an intimate sexual arousal of
ambiguous nature that invaded him
and made him feel good and bad."
Unmoored and distressed, he sought
medical attention. After treating the
subject's initial episode, Magherini
writes that he came to recognize his
latent homosexuality. Another case...

Watch the Football! ⚽ | That Mitchell and Webb Look - BBC
Subscribe and 🔔 to the BBC 👉 https://bit.ly/BBCYouTubeSub Watch the BBC first on iPlayer 👉 https://bbc.in/iPlayer-Home A sports pundit gives a vitriolic rant about football and why we should all watch it in this spoof advert. David Mitchell and Robert Webb score a goal with a second series of their distinctively daft BAFTA-winning comedy, That Mitchell And Webb Look on BBC Two. There's a chance to learn the ancient art of padlock folding or Padlockigami. A man gets a little too excited about football. There's a staffing problem in an innuendo-ridden 70s hospital. Sir Digby Chicken Caesar goes on another rip-roaring adventure. And some stone-age technophobes are sceptical about bronze.
