In @thestar.com I write about how to reimagine & continue Ford's very Trumpy, absurd & ridiculous bike lane war: don't feel lonely (there's more cyclists everyday); protests will grow (note to engineering firms & drivers); it's a culture war (facts, science & good faith don't matter). Let's go.

A gentle reminder that if we miss the 1.5°C target (and we certainly will), the next target is 1.51°C and not 2°C. We need to keep fighting. Every tonne of CO₂ emitted makes the job of future CO₂ removal harder, and every 0.01°C of temperature increase makes the world more chaotic and dangerous.
Cover from The Economist from two years ago "Say goodbye to 1.5°C; why climate policy is off target". It has a graphic of the Earth with an apple on its head, and a arrow shot through the Earth.

In Cycle TO's legal challenge, Ontario made this "bike lanes belong on side streets" argument. The Court found this was "unsupported by any evidence from the government that there are feasible or practical alternative routes which would be used by cyclists instead of staying on the main streets."

The Trump admin just finalized a rule to end decades of protection for endangered wildlife. Habitat loss is the number one cause of species extinction, but this reckless and illegal rule claims that habitat destruction does not harm vulnerable species. We’ll see the Trump admin in court.
