Sometimes I think about how the last ten years started as a publicity stunt for a fading reality show that went sideways.

I just got a frantic call from Allison Statham. She's the mother of Haley Oliveaux, the girl Chris Duncan was wrongly convicted of killing. She says the police are now at her door and demanding a DNA sample. They're threatening to arrest her.

What an absolute clown show. Of course some people will fall for it like they fell for all the other lies, only to appear in news articles a few months later: "I needed that $5k to pay off my medical/utility/whatever bill but I never got it now I'm bankrupt... why would Donny betray me like that?"

Realizing the extent to which this is true wildly changed my opinions about how to deal with Trumpism, since they're never going to be satisfied unless they're actively dominating everyone else. You can't give them some concessions and go back to the status quo: they're reactionary revolutionaries.

My next book has a whole section on the psychology behind "People becoming successful by simply lying about already being successful then charging other people to learn their 'secrets' about how to become successful". This would make a perfect case study, but I doubt the legal team will go with it.

Lawvers for Andrew Tate have had to admit in
court that he is not a citizen of Estonia as he
previously claimed.
Much of his wealth and status is fabricated, they
said in attempt to convince the court he and his
brother are not a flight risk if released on bail
That included his claims to seven passports.
"The Tates are engaged in several businesses
teaching men how to earn money. It is in their
interest to portray themselves on social media
as uberwealthy." 1/3

Fitch is now warning that an AI Market Correction is emerging as a major credit risk, with “the the medium- and long-term potential of [AI] being highly uncertain” www.fitchratings.com/research/ban...
FITCH WIRE
Al Market Correction
Emerging as Major
Credit RiskThe scale of the Al investment boom and the accelerated global technology cycle has been a significant driver of US equity market valuations and corporate bond issuance over the past year. The effects on real economic indicators are profound. The 18% yoy rise in IT capital investment directly added 1.4pp to 1Q26 GDP growth. The wealth effect from Al-related investor optimism and equity market gains has also been a meaningful support for US consumer spending growth, which has been broadly slowing.
That said, the medium- and long-term potential of the underlying technology is highly uncertain, as with previous tech cycles. The combination of revenue uncertainty and the extent to which capital markets and economies have become intertwined with Al have
created a vulnerability for credit in the event of a reevaluation of long-run returns potential. Very short-term spikes in market volatility for individual equities and tech-heavy stock indices have already occurred, but a larger, more protracted correction could have wider market, macro and credit effects depending on its scale, duration and contagion.
