I would love to see a single instance of a new stadium generating half of what was proposed. Any stadium. Anywhere. Unless and until anyone can produce that, this sort of glad handing nonsense should be treated like the utter rot that it is. Hell a single instance of an event would work.

I mean, it’s an incentive thing right now companies, even ones who aren’t ideologically aligned with the GOP, do believe the GOP will fuck them over for not going along and they don’t believe Dems will impose consequences for that you’ve gotta change that, executives need to think twice

If someone breaks laws and you choose not to hold them accountable, you have effectively rescinded said laws. That applies to constitutions as well. This is an immutable, non-negotiable fact. Any analysis of what Democrats should do once they regain power that does not acknowledge this is worthless

Less than 1% of major party nominees for Congress are working class. It is one of the most fundamental ways that Congress is not representative. And their views, e.g. on unregulated gambling websites, are apt to be different. www.bloomberg.com/features/202...

we've been sold the lie theres an immigration problem to fix and there's a way to fix it when there's genuinely no problem (it's all a euphemism for abject racism) and there's no way to "fix" it that isn't deeply evil. we need open borders and effective social programs to help all immigrants

“how do we win back trump voters in 2026” we don’t. we create an environment where admitting to voting for trump is so socially embarrassing as to render them completely inert. you don’t “win back” trump voters. you demoralize them into staying home. you make it a dunce cap

There has never been any such thing as Kids These Days. Jon Sumrall says one cool thing per week at this point www.nytimes.com/athletic/764...
Sumrall’s ability to inspire players goes beyond being a good motivator. It gives him a buy-in that, these days, can be harder to get when rosters fluctuate so much and players come and go more than ever before. Sumrall’s teams play with an edge and a physicality one might expect from a former SEC middle linebacker. His mantra: Coach ‘em hard. Love ‘em hard to become their best, and challenge them daily.

Sumrall says one of the most misguided things he hears is the lament that “kids have changed.”

He disagrees.

The good players, he believes, still want to be coached. The difference is that kids may wonder if they can trust this person because now they probably have less people they think they can trust.

“When you’re relationship-driven, and guys know that you genuinely care about their well-being and their growth, you build a rapport that allows you to coach them however you need to,” Sumrall said. “Then, you have their trust.”

Please, for the love of God, can the media stop calling random cranks who write fan fiction about their personal heroes in the past "historians."
Geoff Shepard, a former Nixon aide turned Watergate historian and revisionist, recently gave a two-hour presentation at Justice Department headquarters that laid out his theory that the deep state took Nixon down. The title of his 78-page slide deck: “Watergate As Lawfare.”
