People always worry about the range of EVs while ignoring the range of their bladder. I can't go much further than 200 miles without needing to use the restroom. So it really doesn't matter if my car goes 300, I'm stopping anyway.

China is amassing an absolute fortune in EV sales worldwide, thanks to Trump starting a war in Iran and making petrol driven vehicles too expensive to run. Xi Jinping must be pissing himself laughing.

U.S. manufacturing jobs are down under Trump, including in the auto industry. His strategy failed, and so will this. Lowering standards will accelerate what he has already been doing: handing the clean tech future to China and forcing Americans to pay more at the pump.

Because right now, when high gas prices are salient, is the time to say "maybe it's a good idea to spend a few grand running some wires." More and more people who can charge at home today are going to buy EVs, and landlords who don't prepare for an electric future are dumb. But I repeat myself.

The next 24 hours will see staggering increases at the pump for both gasoline & diesel. Fuel margins have yet to catch up with previous wholesale hikes.
Watch for huge increases in Great Lakes and Rocky Mountain states in particular.

The good thing about high oil prices is it means EV's and solar take over faster. High oil prices create demand destruction for oil as it gets replaced with sunshine and batteries which become increasingly in demand, grows the industry, attracts talent improving tech, and lowers cost with scale.

ICE cars are dumb and archaic. EVs perform better in every way. More responsive, better handling... EVs need no oil changes, have no exhaust system to rust off, no radiator, no sparkplugs, the mechanical brakes last 2-3X as long, they're quieter...

I have to wonder if a huge reason Teslas sell so much better is because of the direct to consumer no haggle model. Tesla isn't really cheaper than the competitors, but to meet the price at Hyundai or Kia, you need to play the dealership games.
