My bladder range is always smaller than my battery range. So it's never bothered me that I get 180-210 because someone in the car (usually me) is always ready to stop after 2 hours.

People always worry about the range of EVs while ignoring the range of their bladder. I can't go much further than 200 miles without needing to use the restroom. So it really doesn't matter if my car goes 300, I'm stopping anyway.

China is amassing an absolute fortune in EV sales worldwide, thanks to Trump starting a war in Iran and making petrol driven vehicles too expensive to run. Xi Jinping must be pissing himself laughing.

Not really. Roadside Assistance exists and will pick up my car if something happens. And the part is readily available now, so worst case is I'll be without it for 48-72 hours. Will it suck when/if it happens, yes. But cars break sometimes.

U.S. manufacturing jobs are down under Trump, including in the auto industry. His strategy failed, and so will this. Lowering standards will accelerate what he has already been doing: handing the clean tech future to China and forcing Americans to pay more at the pump.

New fuel-economy standards, which President Trump said he finalized Saturday, would kill a federal effort to speed the transition to electric vehicles.

Ooh I don't know that I've ever used live data like that. I just have it estimate at the outset. Their live data is flaky. The only live data for me that's worked well is the built in android automotive on my Volvo C40

Nearly all EVs have issues with their 12v batteries it seems, so that's not really unique to the Hyundai group. ICCU on the other hand, it's a known issue. However, now that the parts are readily available it's a lot less painful.

My GV60 has been an amazing vehicle so far. I didn't realize how much charging speed would make a difference in my road trips. This car is so much easier to take on long drives than my Volvo C40 was.

Yeah, the routing definitely sucks. But it's good at knowing states of charge and estimating usage. That's why I use it just to get an idea of where/when to charge and let maps tell me how to get from place to place.

ABRP is dogshit for guidance, it's great for trip planning. Before I leave I look up my route in ABRP. Then I check the suggested stops in Plugshare to make sure they're all working. Then I use Google maps for guidance get from charger to charger. I never actually use ABRP for directions.

I avoid them when possible as well, but sometimes on a road trip it's unavoidable. Just a little trick, the Tesla app will show you which superchargers are compatible with your car. So, just check the location before you plan on charging there during a trip.

The gt-line is fully loaded and the best you're going to get when it comes to the EV6. Given the fact you didn't share mileage or if it's AWD it's hard to say if it's a good deal. But it's a solid car. My only complaint was all the piano black in the interior.

Because right now, when high gas prices are salient, is the time to say "maybe it's a good idea to spend a few grand running some wires." More and more people who can charge at home today are going to buy EVs, and landlords who don't prepare for an electric future are dumb. But I repeat myself.

The next 24 hours will see staggering increases at the pump for both gasoline & diesel. Fuel margins have yet to catch up with previous wholesale hikes.
Watch for huge increases in Great Lakes and Rocky Mountain states in particular.

I have to give them credit, at least they were trying. Piech really was forcing VW to do new things. It's too bad they couldn't figure out how to get them to pan out in practical applications. The phaeton was incredible.

The good thing about high oil prices is it means EV's and solar take over faster. High oil prices create demand destruction for oil as it gets replaced with sunshine and batteries which become increasingly in demand, grows the industry, attracts talent improving tech, and lowers cost with scale.

Some Automakers offer that kind of flexibility, look at the German brands (Porsche, BMW, MB), their options lists are miles long. But offering that flexibility not only costs more than just including options in large packages, but makes the buying experience more difficult by orders of magnitude.

ICE cars are dumb and archaic. EVs perform better in every way. More responsive, better handling... EVs need no oil changes, have no exhaust system to rust off, no radiator, no sparkplugs, the mechanical brakes last 2-3X as long, they're quieter...
