Just looking over the Tesla offerings in Australia. No more Dual motor model 3 outside of the performance spec! Long range has 750km range. Interesting changes. Basic model now from just over $50k on road. Thats a LOT of EV for the $$.

The main knock on electric trucks: they carry 5% less cargo. But they can cut running costs by up to 70%. Run the numbers and the EV wins whenever fuel + maintenance exceeds ~7% of revenue. For US diesel trucks, it's about 30% (ATRI, 2025)."

Kind of odd Germany produces 3 times as much solar energy as Australia does. considering our climate and location with more then abundant sunlight.. we have a long way to go.

Did you know rooftop #Solar provided 47% of Australia’s energy needs, utility scale solar provided 22%. Total renewable energy was 80% And this happened 2 days in a row now. How long now before we see periods of 100%? Or will coal’s inability to shut down stop it?

CATL supplied the cells for the world’s first large-scale battery energy storage project. Fourteen years later, not one of them has been replaced.

VW is now selling more EVs in Germany than they do combustion vehicles, which has led to some job losses on the combustion car production lines. Why didn't they retrain their staff to work the EV production lines?

One thing I love a lot anou EV and renewable tech, is the pace of development. The combustion engine really stopped decades ago and is basically just fine tuning. Battery tech is still in its infancy and I can’t wait to see where it leads us. www.techradar.com/tech/a-new-l...

The next generation of lithium-ion batteries could come with a little graphitic carbon nitride mixed in.

If it wasn’t for the inability of coal generators to shut down, leading to a lot of wind and solar curtailment, would have renewable energy met near 100% of Australia’s energy needs during the time it hit a max of 80% recently?

Built in 2001, after 24 yrs of emissions free clean energy, the land it’s on, is still land used for actually farming actual animals as well as energy. It’s slated for upgrading soon meaning even more energy can be produced from this farm.

Why is it so ingrained into Australian motorists culture to insult and abuse cyclists at every opportunity? When a quick think will show passing a cyclist safely is less an inconvenience than a slower car. As for rego? Rates pay for roads. Not rego.
