Worth noting that, even if Schmitt wasn't dead wrong and an idiot, he would've basically demonstrated that Jack Smith was at a basketball game in Atlanta the day after Fani Willis admitted to a relationship that had nothing to do with Jack Smith (and was overblown by the GOP in every way).

Every reaction I have boils down to: WTF?

I lived in Iowa in the mid-90s (grad student at U. Iowa), and Grassley had been a Senator for over a decade. He wasn't very good at it even then, IMO. I know there are pros and cons to term limits, but the lifers really need to go.

While I'm ranting, can we also stop treating Susan Collins like someone's grandma who keeps getting scammed? Whether or not she's fit for office, she knows damned well what and who she's supporting, it's clear now she abused her office for personal gain, and she's not some poor dupe.
