59 years ago today, on May 23, 1967, the first GO Transit trains departed from Oakville and Pickering bound for Toronto Union Station. GO Transit began as a single commuter line, with trains every 20 minutes during rush hour, and every hour off-peak and on weekends.
Image shows a map of the first GO Transit commuter rail line.

The line has 16 stations listed west to east:
Hamilton
Burlington
Bronte
Oakville
Clarkson
Lorne Park
Port Credit
Long Branch
Mimico
Toronto Union Station
Danforth
Scarborough
Eglinton
Guildwood
Rouge Hill
Pickering

An info box in the upper left corner of the image reads:

“Government of Ontario Transit was Canadas first publicly-owned commuter rail service. The Lakeshore
Line was first GO Transit service to operate, the line spanned from the cities of Hamilton to Pickering,
running through Downtown Toronto, making 16 stops.

Service on this line and GO Transit as a whole officially began operation on the 23rd of May, 1967”

Jordan Bitove bought The Toronto Star in 2020 and also got an online casino license from the Ford government. The paper used to be boycotted by the Ford brothers because they didn't like reporters reporting on them. No such problems now.

There is a direct causal link between the removal of speed cameras on Parkside Drive and a 235% increase in speeding. This isn't neutral: people have lost their lives on Parkside. The Premier's meddling in municipal affairs is literally putting lives at risk.

"Today’s announcement “signals the beginning of the end” of the Clean Electricity Regulations, said Stephen Thomas, clean energy manager at the David Suzuki Foundation...adding it is “one of the last climate policies this federal government hasn’t already gutted or abandoned.” #CdnPoli
When asked if the federal government still plans to meet its 2030 emissions reduction target, Carney replied that “We'll update our climate plans and our emission reduction targets in due course.”

Canada is not on track to meet any of its climate targets — not even the long-term goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050 — thanks to “the removal or weakening of climate policies” over the last year, according to a February report by the Canadian Climate Institute.

A screenshot of a legal filing excerpt from a case involving Plaintiff Elon Musk and Greg Brockman. The text describes an application to introduce evidence regarding a message sent by Musk to Brockman on April 25, 2026, shortly before trial.

The document alleges that after Brockman suggested both sides drop their claims to settle, Musk replied: "By the end of this week, you and Sam will be the most hated men in America. If you insist, so it will be." The filing argues this statement is admissible under the Federal Rules of Evidence to show motive and bias, comparing it to similar statements made by Musk in litigation regarding his acquisition of Twitter. Numbers 2 through 15 are visible along the left margin, indicating line counts for the legal document.
