ICE cannot do what it’s doing without local law enforcement. They need their manpower and infrastructure. That means if you want to stop ICE you are going to have to confront police collaboration and police power. I’m sorry but progressive hopes of avoiding this conflict are a recipe for failure.

Just a side note for anyone who wants to keep an eye on this kind of thing in their communities - Flock is just one of the companies that makes automatic number-plate recognition (ALPR) devices. Just because you don't hear the word "Flock" from your local PD doesn't mean they aren't using an ALPR.

Democrats who wrote and supported legislation and campaigned on greater enforcement and ceded thw argument to Republican fear mongering should as well. Cruelty lite provided the funding and built the infrastructure for this while agreeing with the central premise that Immigrants deserve pain.

Based on my on-the-ground experience during last years raids in Los Angeles, currently in Philly, I’d estimate at least 25% of ICE agents are open White Nationalists. Watch this one throw up a white power AND “heil Hitler” salute combo. This is normal for ICE. This is ICE culture, plain and simple.

In addition to the bad framing he also buys into salience by saying “that’s right” when the interviewer says it’s an important issue in Texas. Your opponents are picking on kids, in this case trans kids who are suffering and dying from discrimination. Lead with that or get a new career.

Probably true for that specific time period especially but we shouldn't underestimate the impact of all the ToddlerCrusher-150s out there. An accident that would have been an injury with a normal sized vehicle is really deadly with a half tank (with worse visibility). Just a public safety menace.
