People will say "why do you only talk about Israel when there's other countries doing massive violence?" And so with that in mind I'll just note that the UAE, which is backing a genocide in Sudan, as well as being a slave state, is being treated with delicate kid gloves by the government.

Been watching Lanterns carefully, and I just have a few questions despite paying careful attention. 1) Where did Hal's beard go in the last few episodes? 2) Why did it need to say it's now 2026, which I already knew? 3) What is a Green Lantern? 4) The ending was just a list of names, I don't get it.

If Burnham does Brejoin us, how will the pricks react when it doesn't magically take them back to the time before they were paying attention and thought that the world was fine? Because whilst I was no brexiter and I'd be fine with rejoining, it isn't actually going to fix much of anything.

I do not like the new REF rule that attributes your work to the institution you were employed by when you wrote it. Especially since most writing is now done in non-work time. Even more than that I hate that journals are making us affiliate to unis that we have long since left …

Labour once more attacking the vulnerable and already marginalized. Yes, more needs to be done to help young people, along with others, find employment, but not at expense of disabled people's lives. It's irrelevant someone's age if they need disability support 1/ www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Universities cannot expect researchers to take risks if they are repeatedly at risk of redundancy while losing professional services support, grappling with the gratuitous vagaries of home and international student number swings and both teaching and assessing in an age of unregulated AI.

I'd love to live in a country where it was the students - those most impacted - who protested against staff cuts rather than it being the staff who stood in the rain while the students just posted "I'm being ripped off!!!" on social media.

How do new projects get added to the grid? They apply to a network owner. These are the companies that own and maintain the physical aspects of the grid - the wires and cables - that transport our energy around. In the UK this is all privatised, so there are lots of different network owners.

It’s notable that almost all of the political press is playing along with this and they aren’t doing their feral meltdown. I could take guesses at why that is, and the main one is: they’re going to get things they like and want, and very few other people will.

Huh, looks like even Pep was caught up in City's BILLION DOLLAR CHEATING
During the 2017-18 season, Pep Guardiola's second in charge of the team, City recorded
£145.73 million ($192.4m) in commercial revenue, with only £11 million ($14.5m) paid by
sponsors and the remaining £134.73 million ($178m) paid by the owners, which is against
Premier League rules.

In fact, these are scenes we have not seen on British streets. Immigration needs to be deal with, I will be the first to say that and we are dealing with it. The boat crossings have been halved since six years ago, net migration is down massively.
