The Tower of Zeldaga is a mashup of the Legend of Zelda and Tower of Druaga. Every room has a secret puzzle and the puzzles get more obtuse as you go on. It's free, runs in your browser (incl mobile), supports controllers, and I'd really love for you to try it out! legitimatebusiness.biz/tower/

There's truth to this, as it happens in all media But we're also having a crisis of curation. Games media collapsed, whatever's left can only handle a few big games & non-stop coverage of Xbox (good or bad) There's so many recent, fresh gems with barely any media presence, you have to hunt them :/

Today, Double Fine Productions let go of 23 members of its staff.

As a small, tightly knit team, these actions are not taken lightly. Only the survival of our studio would ever make us consider such a painful action. Our transition to becoming an independent company means becoming a size that we can sustain.

The people we are losing were all important. They all made an impact on our games and culture, and they will be missed.

We are committed to supporting each affected person as best as we can, and we thank them for their hard work and commitment to the creative spirit we cherish here at Double Fine.

in february of this year, the corcoran gallery of art in washington, d.c. opened for a single evening a "video artcade," replete with coin-operated games, wall-to-wall. proceeds from the "artcade" exhibition, which attracted establishment luminaries of every description, went to a scholarship fund for the gallery's school of art. but the underlying significance of the show didn't escape that noted social critic and art connoisseur, art buchwald, who told the washington post:quote:

In the Vapor Room on Cloud City, an Ugnaught bar, you can hear "Ton'yy Rho's Uglehop", an uglehop (as opposed to an uglejig) by Ugnaught composer Ton'yy Rho. It's basically an Irish reel (reels are 4/4, jigs usually 6/8) with (I think) recorder, guitar, sitar, and didgeridoo.
