The fact so many people equate rehabilitative justice to we must forgive everything someone has done really and give them back their platform frustrates me, rehabilitation also requires holding someone accountable and what better way to do that than to remove their social power

Sometimes she left the party, sometimes she left the college. Maybe she went to another one or maybe she decided college or grad school wasn’t for her after all. Maybe she decided that career wasn’t it, and lowered her expectations for her whole damn life.

My mum wanted the details of her death heard. She strongly believed in the right to die & had a living will. We need to be honest about what death often looks like & that there is often *no* palliative care that can make someone like my mum's death any easier. TW: This thread is a difficult read.

In a situation of hard job scarcity, as an aside, this is one of the key problems with academic hiring: it generally works as a series of veto points with many stakeholders but no singular decision-maker. So *anyone* in the process having bad vibes kills you, but no ones good vibes can save you.

Please, please, I beg of all hiring committees of all kinds, stop asking us to fill in docx files instead of sending our PDF CVs! I’ve given more mental time to the formatting of this application than I could to actual introspection on the role… and I really want the job!

Other technically non-games media I’ve been looking at lately is (a lot of) immersive theater. These experiences, if done well, rely on the combined lived cultures of the participants, and the physicality of interaction with objects of created landscapes and times.
