One of my earliest commissions from @theabbeyroadie.bsky.social was of Tim Curry as The Lord of Darkness. He was one of the first actors in musicals that I was aware of due to watching Annie over and over again. It breaks my heart to hear of his passing and it is a hole that will never fill. RIP Tim

I saw that new Spider-Man movie, and I enjoyed his dynamic with the Punisher very much. Here's a quick off-the-cuff comic I drew in my sketchbook in the middle of the night.

Panel 1: The Punisher sits on a sad metal cot next to a pile of weapons and writes with a very normal pen in a notebook, "War Journal entry no. 256331: Went to rendezvous with supply sergeant for ammo and firearms and plenty of both. Found him already in five pieces. Words carved into what was left of his torso: BEHIND YOU, my only warning before--"
Panel 2: Spider-Man lowers into frame from the ceiling by a web strand and waves cheerfully. "Hi, Frank!" he says. "What'cha doin', writin' in your diary?" "War journal," the Punisher corrects without otherwise reacting. "Yeah, that!" Spidey agrees.
Panel 3: Spidey holds up a bag made of webbing. "So anyway," he says, "I brought you some zucchini because this nice old lady gave me, like, thirty of them after I saved her Pomeranian from being stepped on by the Rhino, and I know you don't eat any vegetables, just cold cans of beans and tuna fish!"
Panel 4: "I eat vegetables," Frank says, looking over. Spidey has lowered himself to the floor and has opened the bag of zucchini to pull out a large bottle, and he says, "I also brought you a big bottle of mouthwash...because, y'know, again, just beans and tuna fish. And one more ting!"
Panel 5: Spidey thwipps the pen out of Frank's hand.
Panel 6: And shoves into his hand... "A new pen for writing in your diary!"
Panel 7: Frank's eyes dart back to where Spidey is, off-panel. The new pen in question is brightly colored with a fluffy feather top and smiley charms on springs that bobble around.
Panel 8: Spidey waves goodbye as he leaves via the ceiling. "Okay, bye, Frank! Thanks for not shooting at me!"
Panel 9: Frank looks at the pen in his hand. His deadpan expression still hasn't changed.
Panel 10: Frank returns to his journal, but now his handwriting has changed to a loopy script with the eye dotted with a heart, as he writes, "My war continues."
