American Space Cowboys — Die, Workwear!
It’s often said that America has not been this divided since the Civil War, but even these tumultuous times pale in comparison to the social unrest of the 1960s, when post-war America’s cleavages along race, gender, and sexuality threatened to rip the nation apart. Within ten short years, the United States saw the unfolding of [...]Read More...

Working on slides for my planetary geology class and am once again going through my pictures of Apollo astronauts making what I can only describe as "the fuckboy face."
Gene Cernan from Apollo 17 covered in lunar dirt and half-undressed from the EVA suit. The slightly blurry focus plus the dirt plus his facial expression gives the impression that he is about to send a "you up?" text.

It’s honestly not even that amazing of an achievement. It took Starship 14 flights to accomplish the bare minimum expected of a launch vehicle, and even then it’s not exactly been a smooth flight.

“While it’s obvious to energy researchers, I don’t think the public grasps the scale of the change in California.” This a great run down of what’s happening in CA, a large, complex state. There are always complaints, but the article does a good job of detailing many shifts together.
