When AI shills use AI to draft a sales pitch, they don’t realize that every other AI shill is doing the same thing, giving their grifty emails identical appearances, cadences, subject style. I spot them immediately and delete without opening. AI is failing its users and evangelists in so many ways.

Very sad to hear this. Gortner was a real one--he was born into an abusive family who taught him nothing but grifting and fraud, but he found his own morals and exposed the evangelical hustle he found himself a part of. That documentary really is something special.

I had to sue someone a few years ago; after years of ignoring his harassment, he posted something libelous online that I couldn’t ignore. He countersued me because that’s what lawyers tell you to do when you hire them. It dragged on a while; he changed lawyers and at one point faked his death online

I feel like the debate about what parts of AI are good and what parts are bad should wait until we solve the worldwide crisis caused by the fact that almost of all of its evangelists in both tech and govt are morally, intellectually, and ethically unequipped to oversee it, when not downright evil.
