Marcel Duchamp kicked the bucket 55 slutty, slutty years ago and you can't get him out of your head.
You're half as old as he is dead and you are worshiping at his altar, you are drinking his piss. He won.

Howard V. Brown did a lot of great 1930s pulp sci-fi magazine covers. Nevertheless, his June 1924 cover to "Scientific American" might be my favorite work of his, despite not actually being science fiction. I love the nonchalant surrealism.
Two guys carefully paint a scene of a harbor town surrounded by mountains - a scene which they seem to be existing inside, as giants.

Mister Rogers seated and gesturing towards a mid-90s era computer, saying "You know, your own imagination is far more wonderful than any computer could ever be. You know why! You’re a living human being.
And a computer is just a machine. Human beings are far more wonderful
than machines." Mister Rogers is wearing a cornflower blue sweater with a red tie and has gray hair.

L_B_J1.BMF
A color portrait of Lyndon Baines Johnson, the 36th president of the United States. LBJ took office after Kennedy’s assassination in 1963 and served until 1969, when he declined to run for reelection. LBJ pushed for the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act to become law, and overall had a remarkable domestic agenda. The Vietnam War, however, dragged Johnson down. By the final years of his life, Johnson was paranoid, chainsmoking, long-haired like a hippie, and spoke bitterly of a name he only ever mumbled incoherently, but to people around him, it sounded like he was saying, “Cutty Soames.”

WAVE (1994) Acrylic on Canvas - 48” x 48” Of all the paintings hanging in my home, this one probably elicits the most comments. #art
An exponential curve expressed as a massive wave of green-blue water that climbs to vertical against a sky of puffy lavender clouds. Light breaks through the cloud cover just over the horizon casting a flat glare across rippling water before the wave climbs. Fin-like ridges emerge running up the wall give the water turbulence and dimension.

AW isn't a generic system at all, it's highly opinionated and specificly tailored for having plot driven by player mistakes. If your pbta game isn't, why are you using it? I also do sympathize with having decades of rules light RPing and wanting something crunchy and new, which is I think the issue.

Apocalypse World slanderis mostly blowback against the exhausting number of pbta content mills out there that want a free, simple, easy to use system but think AW is dungeons and dragons. AW is specifically good at nonlinear, player-driven storytelling without a hard dm-set campaign.

I’m bathtub posting so maybe this is only gonna make sense to me but: one of the reasons Act Under Fire was so quick to become “the” model for the cultural mindset is because of how the most widespread games were all related around violence and skirmish heroics as a primary standard.

Night. The House of Chimes - a tower which you might immediately think of as Big Ben - is adrift in the River Thames. It still seems to be keeping time. In the background, a large, alien building looms over the city of London.

learning about the ancient chuds
In the Altai, Barchenko also investigated the legend about
“subterranean folk” called the Chud—a possible link to Agartha. In some
undefined ancient times, as the legend goes, the mysterious Chud, who faced
constant oppression and harassment from authorities in this world, hid away
underground by cutting wooden beams to support the roofs of their
subterranean dwellings. From then on, the Chud lived an invisible life,
resurfacing only when the world faced a calamity.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door inadvertently depicts Peach as the quickest typist in the world. She is able to type up a 126-word email in exactly 3 seconds, making her 8 times faster than the current typing speed world record.
In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Peach sends multiple emails to Mario during the plot. Almost all of them take her exactly 3 seconds to type.
The length of the emails she types in 3 seconds varies from 54 words to the longest one seen below, at 126 words.
Peach: I'm OK
My Dearest Mario, I send this letter in the hope that it reaches you safely. I am being held against my will in some strange place. Though I do not know where I am, I remain unharmed and in relative comfort.
Those who have captured me seem to be after the map I sent to you earlier. They may be hoping to use it to find objects they call the "Crystal Stars." I do not know what they are planning, but I have a feeling it is not anything positive.
Mario, please collect these Crystal Stars before they do. You must! They are already aware that you have the map, so please be very careful.
And please... Don't worry about me.
-Princess Peach-
At the current world record typing speed of 319 words per minute, Peach should have been able to get about this far into the email.
In order to finish the email in three seconds, she needed to type with an a speed of 2520 words per minute, 7.9 times the world record.
While the quick typing is clearly merely a way to make the scene move along more quickly and should not be taken as accurate depiction of Peach's typing skills, it is still humorous to imagine the implications arising from it if taken at face value.
