I’ve been to the Dollar store, where I found some fun things to create with. 👻

A translucent purple vase, half filled with foggy crystals, is situated on a small mahogany table. The vase has the word POISON stamped on it in gold lettering and contains black roses mixed with dark purple roses. And, because I thought it needed a little extra fun, there are small black skulls and large purple spiders resting on some of the roses. And…SOME OF THEM SPARKLE! ✨

I’m rereading The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub in anticipation of the release of Other Worlds Than These, the final book in the trilogy, on October 6th. #booksky📚💙

The book’s cover depicts a foggy night on a desolate highway, a car approaching, its headlights bright in the gloom. The title is just below center in bright white, medium sized letters, and the authors’ names are in blood 🩸 red, and large hard to miss, letters at the top (Stephen King) and bottom Peter Straub). Day One of Sabbatical Was awakened at the butt crack of dawn by the rudest of cats vomiting on the bed WHERE I WAS SLEEPING. And now Aerys has some feelings about the disruption to his fifth nap of the day.

In the wake of all the news coming out of the US and the amount of shouting at the TV I've done, I thought everyone else might benefit from one of my favourite photos from 2017 to break up the doom scrolling. I cannot fix the big things, so here's a small thing.

There's a lovely tabby smooshed into her face, a ginger, and a ginger and white kitten on either side of the tabby, and a calico curled up at the bottom. They are super cosy and peaceful.

I’ve lost track of the days, so here’s a throwback on what is probably the wrong day. My daughter Kayte with Rhaegar who’s nickname was Krampus that Christmas because he had a violent dislike of certain ornaments on the tree, which he pulled down and broke or hid in places he knew we wouldn’t look.

I love this, but what I love most is the thought that complete strangers may have nicknames for your cats that you’ll never know about. Like Blattcat’s and Greatcat’s owners have no idea that they’re called that. And my neighbours probably have nicknames for mine… 🐈🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛
