People talk a lot about Bluesky being too negative or too filled with people itching to argue or too filled with racists or what ever else, but honestly, it's not the platform. It's us. Every social media site is like this because WE are like this. It's all gotten worse over the last 10-20 years.

One of the things to come from GamerGate was the gamification of torturing real, live women...hounding them out of their homes, making them look over their shoulders for years. It was treated as a joke, nbd, the work of a few bad apples--as all terrorism against women is--& that failure leads here.

I hope those assholes get consequences in every way possible, but I try not to get hung up on the idea of "justice." When people talk about it, it's an emotion, not the law. What people want is completion. But we already know the law fails women and saves rapists every day. We're not mad enough.
