Anyone in Ontario actually locate a pharmacy with updated vaccines yet? My pharmacy said they'd call me when they arrive. My Doctor's office, which usually has them early for high risk groups, hasn't received any yet either. #Ontario #dougfordfailure #covid #flu #vaccines

I’ve been asking council candidates what they would do to improve road safety, particularly for vulnerable road users. Two now have told me they would regulate e-bikes and scooters and not mentioned the dangerous driving I see daily of the cars and trucks that can easily kill pedestrians 🤯

It’s looking like this municipal election is going to come down to which candidates seem to be the lesser of the evils. Considering how many candidates there are there are truly slim pickings.

"Vaccines work" isn't a political statement. "Immigrants do not increase crime" isn't a political statement. "Climate change is real" isn't a political statement. "Genocide is bad" isn't a political statement. Stop neutralizing the power of facts by framing them as "politics." Reality matters.

Emailed the HPEDSB school board trustee candidates to ask if they support a pause on AI in schools. Quick response from candidate Doug Thur who said that as a former teacher he does support a pause 👍

We had zero illness in our household the entire summer break. The nugget is now on her second illness since school started. I’m not sure I’ll make it through the school year with my sanity intact. F everyone who doesn’t stay home/mask when sick and f capitalism for valuing the economy over health.

Sure would be nice if we could start getting updated Covid and flu vaccines before the start of school in Canada. Covid cases are rising and flu-a has already entered the chat (outbreak just declared in a local LTCH).

I bought some Good Protein in an effort to up my protein intake and it’s so grossly sweet. I’m baffled by the label because there are no non-nutritive sweeteners but it claims no sugar. How can that be possible when there’s a bunch of fruit powders in it? And why so sweet then?

The nugget’s teacher declined my offer to provide masks to keep in the classroom because apparently appeasing the masses is more important than the health of children and health equity so I’m taking my request to the principal 🤞
As excited as Ellie is about the upcoming school year, I'm bracing myself for the constant carousel of illness. I was wondering if PCB would consider having well-fitting (e.g. N95/K95) masks available in the office for students and staff to help themselves to if they want. Given public health's guidance that students should mask if at school when sick, and for 10 days after symptom onset, and the inability for many families to afford quality masks, I feel that this would be a great low-pressure health equity measure to prevent the spread of illnesses in school. There is even an organization (donatemask.ca) that you can request masks from as an organization. If you are agreeable to this suggestion, I would be happy to submit a request and assume responsibility for keeping a basket stocked.
Thanks so much for your consideration and happy back to school!
