We introduced 20mph zones in Oxfordshire and the numbers of people killed and injured on our roads has gone down even as the same figures in surrounding areas have gone up. Sorry to be a soggy liberal but I think that's a good thing.

This is almost certainly true, and the UK fails women refugees in multiple ways, including by refusing safe routes to come here, wrongly rejecting asylum claims, barring family reunion & not recognising trafficking victims promptly or at all. If only Mahmood had the power to do something about this

Sorry to dunk on your old boat fun, but keeping tall ship access to the Pool of London is why we have no walking and cycling bridge downstream of Tower Bridge - the clearance needed by the Port of London makes bridges really expensive and it's time to remove that restriction.

My family was split by the border after my grandparents escaped to the West in the early 1950s. We all stayed in touch, visited once it was possible, & after 1990, I have worked both in the East as well as the West. A very German family history of forced separation & reunification.

A Moray councillor took a job as deputy head at a British int. school, in Cairo (yes, Egypt). He didn't inform his constituents, participates in some meetings online, & continues to draw £26k annual salary. It's legal (there's a residency requirement only for election day) but surely it isn't right.
