Looking through old Procreate drawings, and came across these experiments with the symmetry mode, which I found a lot of fun to use.

A Batman bust. His head is held high, and he vaguely looks like the Michael Keaton incarnation. Everything is coloured in two shades of blue, with a white circle in the background creating some contrast.

A Darkseid bust. He has an expression that is vaguely sorrowful.

As with the Batman drawing, it is rendered in two shades of blue, though his eyes are a vibrant red. Behind him, Jack Kirby style energy crackles, leaving a rim light effect of white around the character's outer edges.

A Doctor Doom bust. He is rendered in two shades of green, and is set against a stark yellow background.

We can see his eyes through the holes in his mask. They stand out against the shadows within, the pupils the same green as his tunic.

I am fascinated (by way of being annoyed) at how unnecessarily stressful it is to provide or expect inclusive catering/food at meetings and events. I’m at the point where a better way would include just telling me the menu and make it not weird if I don’t partake. It’s something about choices.

I imagine a near future where it’s obvious and accepted that Long Covid has affected more people than expected but that the experience will focus on issues like treatment and accommodation (not bad) and not any reconciliation or lessons and institutional efforts for how to avoid a similar situation.

I have been told I am “obsessed with Covid”. Accused of it, even. But I just don’t feel that way. It is the lens through which I think about lots of things because it’s something we’re experiencing and it’s basically connected to everything. I do feel like I’m kinda “obsessed” with viruses, though.
