In the United Kingdom, bigots are protected by law while persecuted minorities are banned from bathrooms. All of this makes perfect sense when you realize the British elite's ideological fixation is on punishing the untermenschen for ever daring to presume we deserved dignity and equal treatment.

It was never extreme for trans people to want to be treated like human beings in whatever spaces we entered. It did not go too far, and no amount of historical revisionism will make the simple request for equal access to safety in public spaces unreasonable.

Before the recent reactionary panic one focus of the trans rights movement was making sure there were safe options for all trans people. This project is now ridiculed as having been too extreme. It never reached its goals of universal trans safety in public spaces.

Absurd outcomes happen when the ideological claim that changing sex is impossible makes contact with the biological reality that every single aspect of sex that could be visible to an observer is in fact changeable.

Love a country where I'm left in a corridor to die because I'm trans and, even though the emergency ward is mixed sex, I'm not allowed in there All the while ofcom is saying "tranny" and "shemale" are acceptable terms to say, ranking them alongside "cis" and "terf" in offensiveness

Folks were obsessed with this story because once again it hit the liberal ideal of politics: this isn’t our fault, our friends and neighbors aren’t actually Nazis with an ideology we have to consciously address, it’s just a building and if we blow it up we won Politics: the Video Game

That is exactly the narrative they want to push: that trans people are a danger to everyone. We are now the modern bogeyman. A tale to tell children around the campfire. It is a modern-day witch hunt, designed to make us 'guilty' of every heinous crime they accuse us of in the public's eye. 🤷‍♀️

Great microcosm of British transphobia. A trans woman is sitting doing absolutely nothing and hurting nobody, but a member of our political elite on £98k/yr finds her appearance disagreeable so wants her legally excluded

If you want to know where we are with transphobia, this is a *Labour MP* whose mum was *in hospital for a medical emergency* and she's still more worried about a trans person *in a mixed-sex ward* than about, for example, her mum
Tonia Antoniazzi tweet:

I’m sorry you’ll resign but I was in a mixed sex emergency ward with my mother as she had no where to go and tbh I was more concerned about the trans person there because of how my mother would have reacted than for them.I stayed there to make sure all was ok. Think of everyone!

good rule of thumb is that when anyone goes out of their way to insist that you don't have to do something which society already overwhelmingly stigmatizes and undermines, that person's real message is opposition to that thing even if they'd like to claim neutrality!

This is a perfect example of propaganda at work. By framing it this way the BBC is implicitly telling its readers that the debate is women’s rights v trans right, instead of bigots v trans people. This is how the GC movement wants it framed, the BBC once again doing the leg work for bigots!

The most important reply I’ve had to this post. We’re now in a society where any trans person could be decided by the press to be their target of the day, and so every trans person is potentially at risk of this level of extremely public harassment. It’s so fucking grim. bsky.app/profile/goth...

And this is the sort of thing @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social and this Labour Government have normalised, by using the EHRC Code of Practice to legitimise anti-trans “gender critical” bigotry as a legally held belief protected by the Equality Act. This is the country they’ve created.

Janet Murray is now publicly harassing a random trans woman for choosing to get gender affirming surgery, and her real life friend for donating some money towards funding it. Janet works for the Telegraph and the Mail. This is the state of British journalism. Harassing people for being trans.
Janet Murray on Facebook: NEW: An English teacher at a 28k a year private girls' school crowdfunded for "bottom surgery" in Thailand in during the summer.
And his headteacher's name appears to be amongst the donors.
He wrote about the experience for his Go Fund Me page - which remained live - until the school was approached for comment this afternoon.
My latest for [Un]Captured - link below

Headline from the link: Girls' school head donated to teacher's sex-change surgery fund
English teacher Cassie Westwood's appeal for "bottom surgery" in Thailand listed a donation under the name of his boss, headteacher Caroline Jordan.

Funnily enough while there's some class implications related to use of regional dialect, we were also probably amongst the poorest family amongst peers.

My parents talked to me in "proper" Italian so contact with school/other children who all generally spoke with the local dialect/inflection was probably the first big hit of disconnect with people I experienced.

One of the reasons for this is that the rhetorical figure of the trans child is never transfeminine. The trans girl is not a figure in the conservative lexicon because the transfeminine is a grotesquerie positioned always as a sexual threat to "real girls", and thus always adultified.
It is the latest development in a story ignited by a comment made by Indiana Fever player Sophie Cunningham, who said she wanted to protect young girls "who shouldn't have to go against biological men" in sport.

No one is going to want to hold trump or any of them accountable Because that means they will be too. And politicians today share one common idea. They should not be accountable to anyone for anything. Same here. Blair isn't indulged because they like him. But because if he goes to jail they all do.
