lol i just discovered that if there's a goblin corpse rotting in your hallway in dwarf fortress, you can stop it from stinking up the place simply by hiding it. out of sight, literally out of mind! you don't need to throw out your trash, you just have to pretend it's not there

Absolute travesty. Academic freedom simply does not exist at Texas Tech University.
After appealing my tenure denial the
Tenure Hearing Panel unanimously found that “the promotion & tenure process was ‘significantly noncompliant with the university’s established standards and procedures’. The President however upheld his original decision to deny me tenure.

Someone said to me, "I'm sorry but I got your book from a library." Nobody should ever apologise for that. You read my book! That's brilliant! I grew up hanging out in libraries and the idea of a world without them fills me with dread. Without libraries, authors, like readers, will only suffer.

I have a theory that when an immigration agency kills someone or engages in other forms of public state violence, DHS goes on a very transparent media blitz, ramping up its claims against so-called sanctuary cities and circulating more of its "worst of the worst" allegations against immigrants.

>>“Today is the first day without him for all of us, and it is heartbreaking to know that my mom did not make lunch for my dad before going to work—the first time in their 30+ year marriage.” Immigration thugs took this family man away for no fucking reason. They are sadists, serial killers.
In our interview, Ronaldo and Lorenzo Jr. told me about what their dad cherished. They took turns ticking off what he loved to eat. “Chile relleno, pozole, chilaquiles,” they said. “Anything my mom made with love,” Ronaldo added. He supported their mom’s garden, buying her flowers to plant, and he loved a good deal at the flea market. Last week it was a “big pot” for tamales, which reminded the young men of their childhood where, while they didn’t have a lot, they never wanted for anything.

One thing Lorenzo especially loved was his John Deere riding lawnmower. It was more than just a machine to him. The yard in the Araujos’ old home was too small for a riding mower. But with the bigger yard in their new home he “was able to justify the purchase,” Ronaldo said. It was a symbol of pride and progress.

MSG requested a permit for a watch party for 500-999 fans. We approved that permit for 999 fans.

Mr. Dolan has now decided to cancel the watch party.

I know this is breaking hearts across our city.

But if there's one thing Knicks fans don't need permission for, it's showing up for our team wherever we may be — no matter the block or the borough.

Johnson is truly fascinating, because he's a 'type' that appears often in fiction but very rarely in the real world - the bad person for a good cause. By all accounts, LBJ was a bully, a cheat, corrupt, utterly ruthless... and genuinely driven by a bone-deep conviction to justice and equality.
