An interested layperson foolishly tackling the incumbency most entrenched in just about every aspect of our lives: alternating current electricity in buildings.

One thing I would like to see in any story about Lithium-Ion battery fires is that there have been 3,200 petrochemical incidents (including leaks and fires) in the last 3 years, at a rate of 1x every 10 hours SpillTracker.org
spilltracker.org
One petrochemical incident every 10 hours.
Not once in a while. Not somewhere else. Spill Tracker counts them, maps them, and carries the words of the people who live next to them.

Stevie Wonder releasing four previously unheard tracks from Songs in the Key of Life for its 50th anniversary is delightful. Also a reminder, you can, in fact, make masterpieces and still leave some songs in the vault. pitchfork.com/story/stevie...

Strong parallel between Big Tech on the AI backlash and the Trump Administration on macroeconomic forces it is now failing to jawbone. Both enjoyed too much success controlling info environments & have too thoroughly detached from physical reality to respond appropriately to the crises before them.

One of the companies we are told will be investing in Venezuelan oil is Primavera which is described by the WSJ as "Primavera—co-founded by Fred Ehrsam, a Trump ally who also co-founded Coinbase—will develop two heavy oil fields in the country’s Orinoco belt." A big oil co we've never heard of?

The subversion scheme is devious. But the Democratic method of non-confrontation is more ominous. These are for the most part the same members who will be tasked with holding Trump accountable next year—assuming the subversion fails. www.offmessage.net/p/stop-donal...

Hoping Someone Else Stops Trump Is Not A Plan
A whistleblower exposed his illegal scheme to cheat in the midterms, and House Democrats turned around and funded his government. It’s a bad omen for 2027.

When people say you don’t earn a billion dollars, you steal it think about the difference between Dolly and Bezos. Dolly hired union musicians, paid healthcare, living wages, and tuition for Dollywood employees. Bezos‘ employees have to wear diapers because they don’t get breaks. He’s a thief.

Remember how power bricks used to be bigger, heavier, hotter, and less powerful than power modern power supplies? The SNES power supply can provide 8.5W and this much smaller GaN USB-PD can supply 65W, at greater efficiency. Well, the same thing is probably going to happen to grid transformers. 🧵

We could avoid all of this simply by not covering elections this way & waiting until all the results are in, instead of doing hours of theater & creating space for authoritarians to sow doubt about voter fraud because they've passed laws forbidding the timely counting of ballots in WI & elsewhere.

Used Silverado EVs are really one of the best deals in large home batteries out there today, plus you get a whole truck essentially for free. The $10k V2H charger isn't even required as they have 7.2 kW of AC outlets onboard, even a 240V! Add the $500 Chevy Power bar and it can output 10.4 kW AC!

The future of climate finance
The trend is clear. So are the challenges. One key task is to de-risk capital investments to lower costs. This is where public climate finance must play…

The death of the stick shift is almost here
Driving a manual vehicle is a lost art. Hopes of a revival have fallen flat. With the rise of EVs and autonomous vehicles, only a few die-hards hold on.

The #1 thing about overheating is it makes your brain work bad. WAY before the "real" symptoms like dizziness, headache, weak pulse, cramps, nausea, etc. So by the time the "real" symptoms show up? You're already so fuzzy, you can't tell that you're in trouble. That's how people get heat stroke!
