Hegseth is clearly an alcoholic. He said "alcohol will never touch my lips' if confirmed to be US Secretary of Defense. That thunderous roar you hear is one big spit take by recovering alcoholics and the people who love them everywhere.

That comment alone says he is an alcoholic. They go by days without drinking, not by saying they won't drink. I remember friends that are. It ain't that easy to do.

For those in Al-Anon, how often has your ex, parent, sibling, etc promised that if YOU came back, loved them, put up with them, they would quit drinking. They swore.
