The Labour share of income has been in long term decline, but rather than control inflation through reining in those that have more control over prices and profits, they screw workers. www.rba.gov.au/publications...

Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to tax gas? Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to build public housing? Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to end AUKUS? Greens are happy to be constructive about things that materially benefit the public. We are not a rubber stamp.

As has been extensively argued, public sector pay rates tend to determine economy-wide rates. That Australian rates of pay have fallen far behind profit growth, even behind weak productivity growth, and now behind inflation, is very much because of the games played by operations like the RBA.

Can’t eat a sandwich until you subscribe to sandwiches. Can’t eat today’s sandwich until it has applied daily sandwich updates. Sandwich now has adverts even though you paid for ad-free sandwich. Can pay again to have less sandwich adverts. Now you can eat the sandwich, but it’s smaller.

Nothing kills creativity more than a constant focus on whether something will sell. I’ve often heard people say “there’s not a huge market for that though, is there?” when someone presents a truly unique idea or thing. This is why we ended up with a world full of white kitchens. Resale value.

In the late '90s, our label decided we should have this producer because he had produced hits for Vanessa Amorosi. He was doing that kind of statistical analysis of music back then - "It can't be that tempo because nobody has had a hit at that tempo since..." AI is now an accelerant for this :(

What the actual fuck are we doing? Albanese flies around talking about climate "bravery" while back home we're considering another 429 MILLION tonnes of coal. Around 809 million tonnes of CO₂ when it's burned. We know exactly where this ends, and yet here we are still fucking digging. #auspol

“While unlikely, we cannot rule out that de-identified data derived from their usage of our products helped improve our models.”
OpenAI: We congratulate Levent Alpöge and Tristan Buckmaster on their remarkable mathematical work.
We (the researchers and the agents) did not see any of their work through any means until they released it publicly — in particular, no specific user data was accessed in order to solve this problem.
While unlikely, we cannot rule out that de-identified data derived from their usage of our products helped improve our models.
However, our proofs differ significantly and even the precise results proved are different in the Euler case (forced vs. unforced).
