If you vote by mail, fill your ballot out and take a picture of it next to a handwritten note with your username on it. Don't post it to your socials until they start saying the election was stolen or a fraud or ballots were misplaced/seized/destroyed.

Permanent Daylight Saving Time vs Permanent Standard Time

Arguments against a permanent daylight saving time cite that later sunrises in the winter would have a n impact on school children and early morning works’ sleep schedule.

Permanent daylight saving time? Schools and students would suffer, experts say

Just reading up on the city budget (been on vacation). There are a number of strange errors and misconstruals in the Seattle Times' coverage, including a reference ot "Seattle's income tax" (we don't have one) and spending outpacing revenue in a worsening economy (that's not what caused the deficit)

Seattle mayor tries to ‘right the ship’ in her first city budget

The city has faced consistently bleak revenue projections for years, and, as was the case last year, city spending continued to outpace revenue this year.

I agree with all of this except it’s more optimistic than I am. This assumes that when Trump is gone, Americans will become the decent people we have incorrectly perceived ourselves to be. Putting Trump in power a second time proves the first time was no fever dream.

Starbucks Workers United has officially called for consumers to boycott Starbucks. They have 3 primary demands: Finalize a union contract, improved pay/stability, and for Starbucks to stop violating federal labor law. www.boycottstarbucks.net

• Starbucks must finalize a fair union contract with 12,000 local baristas and growing.
• Workers must be able to survive on a Starbucks paycheck.
That starts with a union contract that locks in better pay, better staffing, and enough hours to live on.
• Starbucks has to stop breaking the law.
They remain the biggest violator of U.S. labor law in modern history.

How I feel about these online age verification laws

“For the Better, Right?," also known as the Anakin and Padme 4-Panel and Clueless Padme, is an exploitable image macro format based on screenshots from the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. The meme format is arranged in a common four-panel layout, with the setup, response and punchline in the following panels. Differing from other four-panel memes, the punchline and setup are combined in the first panel, with the other panels being auxiliary.

Top left panel has Anakin saying “Minors are online too much.”

Top right panel has Padme smiling and saying, “So you're going to provide offline third places and activities for minors, right?”

Bottom left panel has Anakin looking on knowingly

Bottom right panel has Padme staring seriously and soberly with the caption, “You’re going to provide offline third places and activities for minors, right?”
