Sharing recent publications just for fun (part 1). Here, we explored neutralizing epitopes in the porcine deltacoronavirus spike glycoprotein. 🐖 📄 www.nature.com/articles/s41... We found that a mAb targeting the N-terminus can trigger partial opening, perhaps mimicking a co-receptor interaction.

With all this talk about cutting the NIH, might I remind everyone that the entire NIH budget is less than 5% of the DoD budget. The NIH is so efficient that they already rely upon volunteer labor to do grant review. And they are not even allowed to buy grant reviewers coffee.

After my observation that limited numbers of HSV and PRV virions transmit from axons, I was lucky enough to start my own lab at Montana State University. As we got going, I became increasingly obsessed with the timing of virion transmission from axons.

Anybody have experience with ScienceCast? It seems to be connected to BioRxiv and auto-generates an AI-written and performed audio summary of a preprint, which is basically a paraphrasing of the abstract with bad pronouciation. Is this legit? Useful? Worth leaving up? Taking down?
