From holidaymakers in trouble to desperate families stranded at sea, the RNLI's mission for over 200 years has remained simple: saving lives. The small minority abusing RNLI heroes don’t represent us, so we need to make our support loud and clear.

I stopped eating animals 13 yrs ago. I stopped flying 10 yrs ago. We drive very little. Our electricity in Sweden is fossil free. But it all feels so futile when politicians are intentionally trying to make people do the opposite, and climate change is accelerating.

And get ready for bewildered birds, weighing at least half a kilogram each, running and flying across busy A-roads and motorways, panicking drivers who try to miss them, and smacking into the windscreens of those that can't. Just another cost the public pays for the private pleasure of the industry.

A marvellous afternoon on the #Norfolk coast today. We went for another look at the West Runton #Wryneck and had Common Redstart and Willow Warblers too, then to #NWTCley&SalthouseMarshes where we had 2 Arctic Skuas from the beach, and a great selection of waders plus 15 Spoonbills on the reserve!

A brief trip to West Runton #Norfolk this afternoon to see our favourite bird - a Wryneck of course. It showed wonderfully well after a while and kept a group of birders totally absorbed. We didn’t have the scope with us so couldn’t get a photo. A wonderful Norfolk Autumn experience nonetheless.

Calls to ban ‘toxic’ pet flea treatments that harm UK wildlife and environment
Over-the-counter treatments for cats and dogs contain chemicals that are banned in pesticides and pollute waterways Over-the-counter flea treatment for cats and dogs should be banned as millions of hazardous chemicals are unnecessarily applied to UK pets each year, a parliamentary report has concluded. Cats and dogs are widely treated with topical, or “spot on”, treatments that include insecticides to prevent fleas. Vets often recommend regular treatments as a preventive measure, even when the animals do not have fleas. It’s Invertebrate of the Year again! Every day from 3-12 August, we will be profiling one of the thousands of amazing invertebrates that our readers have nominated, and when you have heard about all of them, we will open the voting so you can choose your favourites.
