Hey legal and finance Bluesky: I just got a court notice of a class action trial verdict against Elon Musk for manipulating the stock price of Twitter in 2022. If you sold shares (or bought puts or sold calls) from May-Oct 2022, you can get some of Elon Musk's money. Here are the docs.
Court-ordered class action lawsuit trial verdict notice informing individuals of a jury verdict against Elon Musk entitling individuals who sold Twitter stock (and/or bought put options or sold call options) during the period of May-October 2022 that they are entitled to monetary compensation due to the trial verdict finding that Musk illegally manipulated the stock price of Twitter.

When I have this conversation, someone usually mentions that we give Apple and Google a lot of our data too. That's true. We tend to talk about whether you can "trust" these companies. But I think it's more useful to talk about incentives. Who has the *incentive* to screw you over.

For H's party she watched The Dark Crystal with friends, so obviously I did a cake of the Great Conjunction. Not 100% happy with how the crystal came out (sugarpaste lump took too long to harden; tricky to cut facets or draw lines on it) but they ate it anyway (best thing about cake art!). :-)
A cake with arcane symbols (which actually say Happy Birthday) and a giant pink crystal hovering* above them

* actually fixed to the cake obviously

Why do hoomans fuss me every time I am curled up asleep? It is exhausting being this cute,I need more sleep? That sofa the hooman is sitting on must be better than the cushion I am curled up on. Whatever is on the other side of the door must be better than this side of the door? Where’s me food?

DoorDash spent $1.4M trying to stop Zohran Mamdani from becoming mayor. This week's historic $131.5M enforcement action against DoorDash for underpaying NYC delivery workers shows why. Yet another reminder that the only thing that can beat organized money is organized people.

Healthcare should be there when you need it. No exceptions. Trans people deserve the same dignity, respect and access to care as everyone else.
Quote graphic. Headline reads: “When trust in healthcare is broken.”

Quote from Anthony Slaughter, Leader of the Wales Green Party:

“People had surgeries cancelled at the 11th hour, with no explanation or option to reschedule. These are people who had spent years preparing, both physically and mentally, for this life-affirming surgery.

In my own way, I was able to relate to that agonising wait. In the days leading up to planned surgery over recess, I underwent scheduled and serious surgery. You trust the system around you. For some, that trust has been broken.

What is important is that the voices and experiences of the trans community are amplified and understood. Gender-affirming healthcare saves lives. What this community needs now more than ever is decisive action, proof that their government will stand up for them and take the lead.”

I ordered what is close to a custom made midi keyboard from the US to work with my virtual pianos. UPS destroyed the crate it came in and unfortunately scratched the lid. That will get resolved by the maker. But it is obvious this is a piece of art for making music.
A picture of a wooden keyboard in its case on a piano desk designed to hold it. Above are three pictures and on the shelf above an iPad and speakers. To the right is a computer display.A view looking down on a piano keyboard. The keyboard case is a wooden one and it sits on a wooden piano desk that has a shelf for. A music rest, speakers and lamp.A view of the internals of a piano keyboard visible with the key sticks, their weights and red felts visible. The lid of the keyboard has been raised on a hinge at the back and you can see the underside of the lid.A close up view of the keys on a keyboard. The full length wooden keys are visible.

Wide shot of the BRITISH MUSEUM. There are suggestions of fascism around the streets - tanks, barricades, an Orwellian 'Big Brother'-style poster on a wall. A voice of a TOUR GUIDE emanates from the museum:

TOUR GUIDE:
So the Tapestry tells acrucial chapter of our nation's history...

2
[Cut to interior of museum. A long Bayeaux-style TAPESTRY is on display, and the Tour Guide is speaking to a tour group]

TOUR GUIDE [smiling]:
How modern fascist Britain was created.

3
TOUR GUIDE:
The Tapestry begins here with the 2008 Crash, then austerity, then the AI Crash...

4
TOUR GUIDE:
...and by the end of the room it's just full-on fash.

5
CHILD IN TOUR GROUP [gesturing to the tapestry]:
What's this middle bit?

TOUR GUIDE:
This is the 2026 Battle of Legitimate Concerns

6
TOUR GUIDE:
[show a reporter standing next to the Dover protests]
Here's the media saying the government have got to do something about the legitimate concerns...

7
CHILD:
...About the failure of capitalism?

TOUR GUIDE:
No about brown people on boats

8
CHILD:
[pointing at boats crossing the sea on the tapestry]
Are these boats the mega-dinghies?

TOUR GUIDE:
Not all of them

9
[we see one of the boats is a giant yacht]
TOUR GUIDE:
That one's a superyacht,
carrying money from the American fascists to the British ones.

10
TOUR GUIDE:
You see really it's as much a story of convergence as it is of conflict.

[An alarm sounds in the museum]
DING DING DING DING

11
TOUR GUIDE:
Ok, tour over everyone

12
TOUR GUIDE:
It's time for the Two Minute Hate!

[They all leave the museum]

[ends]

This had become the new normal. RNLI crew members had been forced to take their permits off their cars after their tyres have been repeatedly slashed. Most of them have been pilloried at the school gates or turned away from local pubs. One man who worked in search and rescue had been beaten unconscious and hospitalised, recognised for TV interviews he had done.
