I am so triggered by RJK Jr's comment about ICU's being empty during #COVID. I re-read what I wrote after one of the surges. How do others forget. The trauma was--and is--real.

This article has many strange and distracting elements seeking to pin some blame on the poor. In a paragraph about poor children, Kristof says ‘yes, many end up making bad choices’. What?!

This is interesting! For Indian spices also consider the Diaspora Spice Company, which has an ethical approach to sourcing spices from the subcontinent and excellent quality as well. It’s expensive but the best saffron, turmeric, and chillies I’ve had.

It's entirely possible if the post (which shows direction) is removed from the prosthetic valve prior to sewing it in. Almost always discovered intraop (via TEE) and re-replaced immediately. No idea what happened in the case mentioned here.

I get tired of saying it, but I’ll say it again: the nature of oppression in America is that they workshop it first on Black, Latino, Asian & Native people. But it is always, in the end, coming for everyone.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.” That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

Dogs are a gift. Research which kind of dog (breed mix, age) would suit you best. Consider fostering to adopt if you’re not entirely sure. I didn’t grow up with dogs in Singapore. In my late 30s I have two shepherd mixes. Best thing that has happened to me.

The truth is that many physicians are only in it for status, fame, and wealth—not the betterment of humankind. What is happening at the level of HHS we see in our daily interactions too. And just like the admin, health systems also reward the narcissists.

i have said this before but when “getting rid of race in admissions” for the administration means “you can’t even try to reach out to underrepresented communities and encourage them to apply and if you do it is illegal discrimination against white people” then the actual goal here is segregation
