Last week, before I intubated 2 patients, I told them, "It will be ok; I GOT YOU" & saw the relief in their faces. I was right & they have both left the ICU. Such an incredible privilege to be in the position to be able to say those words in a life or death situation. #Medicine is humbling.

I told a patient's family yesterday that it was going to be my last day in the ICU before I rotated off, and the family asked me which hospital I was rotating to so she can follow. Nope, I will be on moving onto vacation this weekend! We will be going to Korea!

The awful Cornell assault story reminds me of the movie "Promising Young Woman". A drunk young woman was raped by a classmate, as his college buddies watched and recorded the assault. It was a really dark movie & reminds me that the ugliness in fiction often stems from reality.
