Also we need to talk about what propaganda actually is and how it's not some unique eldritch evil welling up in totalitarian states but an all-encompassing form of human social communication that we all take part in, if we feel our side of the story is worth telling.

I watched a North Korean exposé on Western propaganda and the thing that struck me was that our propaganda was as transparent to a North Korean as North Korean propaganda is to us. It isn't meant for us just like ours wasn't made for them. The propaganda you see isn't what's farming you.

My operating theory in life is: you are immune to some propaganda. If you switched sides, it's the side you came from whose propaganda is just infuriating and mindless to you. Bottom line: if you're immune to it, it's not for you.
