I had been holding onto some vague hopes about a job opportunity for weeks now and today they've finally all dried up absolutely crushed. I just want some stability I don't understand how there's any future for me, I am doing poorly

I need every developer to know I have never "taken a tour of the new features" I cursed you, closed the window, then did the same thing I did yesterday and every day before and if you changed how that worked in any way, I cursed you twice as hard

this campaign is kinda disappointing, too. the tracks lost all personality since they introduced the vistas. now they just seem to drop some track through it and call it good the design gave them personality and made them memorable can you spot the seasonal decor? doesn't this just feel autumnal?

screenshot of Trackmania (2020) Fall 2026 - 09 track. it's a verdant green set in the lagoon vista with a single track running through it

look, I'm not a networking guy, but the fact that the EUI-64 assignment just puts your MAC into your IP kinda shows that IPv6 is a mess, right? I know there's the randomly generated option, too, but they really thought they were cooking, huh

Snail sharks 🐌🦈 shnails, snarks...?! #art

A collection of illustrations featuring a shark-snail hybrid against a green, wavy background. The shark featured is an epaulette shark with a sea shell on their back, yellow in colour with a cream belly. They have round circles on the sides of their body, and little snail tentacles on the top of their head. They are shown enjoying a variety of veggies, hiding in their shell, and playing with smaller snails. Epaulette sharks can crawl around on land, and that is exactly what this wee friend loves to do while leaving a telltale trail behind!

having not played a Dragon Quest Monsters game before, I'm surprised to learn that it leans towards the SMT style of "don't get attached to these buggers" because you're just going to be breeding (fusing) them, which yes does remove the parents. as opposed to Pokemon where you nurture favorites

what did they do to Papa? this was certainly a decision

Papa from the 3DS remake of Dragon Quest Monsters 2, he is shirtless, absolutely ripped, and wearing a cowboy hat

Papa from the PSX remake of Dragon Quest Monsters 2, there's no closeup but his character sprite is a very unassuming man with black hair wearing a drab green outfit

the whole "it looks like I remember it looking" mentality is flawed when it comes to videogame remakes it's not that we wanted or needed it to look like that, that's our human nature at work nourishing us with our own imaginations and the fondness and memories we formed around it
