Omigod, this is the most heartwarming story possible! Backpack (bear 89) is the son of the 2019 winner of Fat Bear Week, Holly (bear 435). In 2007, he injured his foot & a practice of riding on momma's Holly's back had a new meaning: he was mobility-restricted while it healed. So Holly moved him.

Using my Steam Controller to bop around my desktop while my mouse pad dries (ooh buddy, it was time for a good scrubbing) and honestly, this kinda rules. They've really worked some magic on the trackpads which feel great even at 165Hz. Still haven't tried an FPS with it though, lol

Our man is in the kitchen making spaghetti for his guests, who have become increasingly rowdy as they wait for dinner. More on them in a moment. He speaks into his landline phone with his oven mitts on, “Everybody’s pretty riled up for spaghetti night.” He is correct because sure enough we see his riled up dinner guests in the background. Two men play wrestle as a woman raises her hand to spank one of the wrestler's cheeks. She’s got great leverage on the windup so those cheeks are about to be pummeled, reader. Another man finds himself being carried by a woman with a crew-cut. Her strength is on display here because despite the man’s weight she’s able to effortlessly run around the living room with him slung over her shoulder like a ragdoll. Behind them we see another spaghetti night guest pumping his fists and shouting to the ceiling. Perhaps howling.

Finished Twilight Princess by way of Dusklight! A damn fine Zelder I'm glad to have finally played the whole way through. Most of my complaints are the same ones I have with all 3D Zeldas (clunky camera and controls, constantly capped on goddamn rupees, etc.), but I had a great time overall. 8.8/10

I thought this was just beautiful. Kurt Vonnegut takes a walk to mail a letter:

I go next to the postal convenience center down the block at the corner of 47th Street and Second Avenue. The woman behind the counter says, “Thirty-nine cents for a stamp.” I say, “I only brought thirty-seven. When did that change?” She looked at me a long time. “Thirty-seven isn’t enough.” “Well that oughta be enough for one envelope,” I said. The line was getting longer.

The lady moved her hand into her coat. I knew this routine. I backflipped behind the man behind me in line, wrapping my elbow around his throat as I landed. By the time the stamp seller had unloaded her clip, I had full cover. The gentleman’s body dropped to the floor, six holes smoking. The package he was carrying fell to the floor with a heavy clunk. Whatever was in there, it would do.

I rolled my foot over the cardboard and did a “flick up” as they call it in soccer. I bounced the package once or twice on the back of my foot as the mail lady reloaded, then I launched it high and spun 360 to deliver my patented “Rising Phoenix kick”. The package caught fire as it shattered through the protective plexiglass window and struck the woman’s head with all the force and hatred I had learned to channel in my grueling tutelage under five fallen Wudang masters in my youth. The lady’s body exploded off of her bones, leaving just a blackened skeleton spinning in her office chair. “So it goes,” I said, but no one laughed. I guess they weren’t big readers.

And I go home. And I have had one hell of a good time.

We are dancing animals. How beautiful it is to get up and go out and do something. We are here on Earth to fart around. Don’t let anybody tell you any different.

OK YEAH, Resident Evil absolutely whips. I didn’t quite love Barbarian or Weapons, but I fucking loved RE. Austin Abrams plays the perfect in-over-his-head dufus protag and had me laughing throughout the entire film. Kinda can’t wait to see it a second time

So I finally got a Steam Controller after uhhh however many months ago May was. And it’s great! It had better be for its price tag! I’ve only really used it with FFXIV so far, but having immediate mouse access is quite handy. Will definitely do more experimenting in the coming weeks

Note that Miyata-san technically only said he looked over the entire script because they can use more kanji in Japanese this time, not that it's fully rewritten. The JP screenshots provided seem to use the exact same script. Though Lufia 2 appears to have a slightly revised EN translation...
