How much do I have to yell about this? I already wrote *an entire blog* calling out THIS specific site's double-standards, but there is a reason mainstream media doesn't use machine translators even now and it's fucking embarrassing that far more tech literate orgs willingly ignore that for clicks.

If you're gonna attempt to cover something like this yourself as an outlet without relying on one of the specialist sites, it's frankly the least you could do. Translation inherently involves putting words in people's mouths and it USED to be the norm to have Japanese speakers in-house decades ago.

Numerous people have already been pointing out for days that western reporting on this is an embarrassingly inaccurate game of telephone, so I'll instead reiterate that it doesn't cost that much to just have a real translator on standby to vet such reports. I know budgets are tight, but come on.

TIL that the opening of Onimusha 3 was directed by Takashi Yamazaki, director of Godzilla: Minus One! Sadly, nearly every upload of it is a stretched, GenAI abomination. So, I ripped and painstakingly upscaled what I consider the greatest video game cinematic ever from its 2007 PC release! Enjoy!

Good eye! In Tokimemo Pocket, there are "screensavers" that you can trigger by pressing Select and when you romance a girl, you unlock their screensaver. You can "trade" these screensavers over IR, although you're just unlocking them for each other. Here's the defaults you get with a fresh save. 🐨

you might think this is a joke and that tokimeki memorial and pokemon share little else, but consider this: tokimemo gen 1: iconic, foundations laid, tons of imitators gen 2: bigger and better, the fan fave gen 3: disappointing, outshone by otome spinoff gen 4: return to form i rest my case 😤

The first time I played GPM, I ran into Iwata who proclaimed himself as the game’s final boss. Terrified, I punched him, we ran around campus, and then the game crashed. This happened three times, and I couldn’t tell if it was a bug or some meta-trick…fitting for this character.

I will never forget the roundtable interview with senior production crew behind Psycho-Pass I was part of that had a rep from SC as one of the interviewers (there were several outlets present). When it came time for them to ask a question, they asked if Psycho-Pass would ever have a beach episode.

I'm just cackling. What else can I do these days? GPM is such a godawful choice to throw into the machine. The game can barely keep itself together in spots natively as it is before you ask Claude to translate and hack it and the game is so sicko-coded, the """ROI""" for clout is minimal. Bonkers. 🫠
