Good morning Folks. Wishing you all a good week to come. ☺️ A photo I took on yesterday’s walk. #Outdoors
Fields on sloping hills, bordered with trees. The sunshine is lighting up the fields and the trees are casting shadows. The nearby field contains grazing sheep.

Crow launching from a dead tree #BirdOfTheDay #BlueSkies #BlueSkyMonday #ECK #EastCoastKin #Photography #Birds #BirdsOfBlueSky #10MinutesFromHome
Vertical photo of a crow taking off from a branch of a dead tree. The crow is directly facing you. Its wings are vertical, wing tips nearly touching each other at the top. Its legs hang straight down. It is launching off a branch of a dead tree. You can only see part of the tree, whose trunk is at the right edge of the frame, and there are multiple branches coming across the photo at different angles. The background is a hazy, cloudless summer blue sky

#Stunday "The beauty of #Skyscrapers, Exhibit 40, your Honor." Spanish Rose granite; gold-pink windows in an accordion style; & a step-pyramid in the Mesopotamian Ziggurat-style of all things! #AoFoto #Architecture #ECK #UrbanGaze #StreetPhotography #Photography #Photographers #GeometricShapes
A photo of Enterprise Plaza (also known as 1100 Louisiana) in downtown Houston, Texas. Designed by legendary international architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), working in association with 3D/International architects, and completed in 1980, the skyscraper features a dramatic, stepped orientation that slopes progressively downward at its base, creating a tiered, ziggurat-like profile.

The main tower rises as a massive, undulating vertical structure with deep, repeating fins that run continuously from top to bottom, providing striking geometric depth and strong shadow lines. The juxtaposition of the sharply angled, stepped foreground against the curved, ripple-patterned high-rise highlights the building's Late Modernist focus on scale, repetition, and intersecting geometric forms.

Visually, this is a low-angle, upwards-looking photo highlights a striking juxtaposition of geometric patterns, colors, and textures between two architectural structures. In the foreground, the stepped, staggered concrete structure creates a sharp, block-like diagonal silhouette defined by dark square windows and a gridded stone tile facade. In contrast, the backdrop features a soaring curtain wall skyscraper composed of highly reflective, metallic gold-tinted glass panels. The building's accordion-like, faceted surface folds outward in repetitive vertical pleats, amplifying the play of warm light and complex geometric shadows across the entire scene.

Leafless trees and dense hedgerows emerge from layers of morning mist in the countryside at Shawford, Hampshire, England. A large, dark tree dominates the right side, its thick trunk and intricate network of bare branches silhouetted against a pale, almost white sky. Smaller trees and tangled vegetation stretch across the left foreground, gradually fading into the fog. Beyond them, faint outlines of more trees are barely visible through the mist, creating several soft layers of depth. Low fog hangs over the field and partially obscures a simple fence running through the landscape. Four small birds fly in the otherwise empty sky near the upper left, adding a delicate detail to the stark, monochrome scene.

The elevator shaft and the atrium of the John Portman-designed Marriott Marquis Hotel is a paragon of 1970s Brutalist architecture. Standing at the bottom reminds one of being in the belly of a giant whale. All of that space, coupled with concrete surfaces, does weird things to sound and creates a creepy uncanny vibe.

Morning #BlueSky ☕️ & welcome to my usual Sunday capture with one of my poems in the Alt. This week please enjoy: “After the Rain” Have a wonderful day friends ☺️ #ECK #Stunday #BNWmacro #ImageAndVerse #Photography #PhotographyOfBlueSky #PhotographersOfBlueSky #ClassicMono #Abstractia #leaves
After today’s picture description, l have written a poem based on this capture.

A striking black-and-white photograph captures three elongated leaves lying against a rough, textured stone surface.

The leaves emerge from a single slender stem, spreading outward like the fingers of a hand. Two point upwards while the third curves gently to the right.

Their surfaces are covered with dozens of water droplets, ranging from tiny beads to larger rounded drops.

In the monochrome image, the droplets appear bright and silvery against the darker leaves, making them the most prominent feature of the composition. Fine veins run along each leaf, adding delicate detail and texture.

The rough stone beneath provides a dramatic contrast to the smooth leaves and perfectly rounded droplets.

Strong light and deep shadows give the photograph a quiet, almost sculptural quality. A simple moment in nature has been transformed into an intimate study of texture, light and water.

Finally, today’s picture is finished with a simple white board frame. And now for my poem…

 I call it….After the Rain

Three leaves rest upon the earth,
holding the morning in their hands.
Each droplet catches a fragment of light,
a tiny world suspended in silence.

The stone is ancient beneath them,
rough and weathered,
while the leaves remain delicate,
their veins carrying the quiet story of life.

Nature needs no grand canvas.
Beauty can be found
in a drop of rain,
a trembling leaf,
a moment after the storm.

And for a little while,
the ordinary becomes extraordinary,
the earth glistening,
the leaves breathing,
and the world reminding us
how beautiful it is simply to be alive.

A street photograph framed in a square aspect ratio with a wide white border. On a sloped concrete pavement bounded by a black metal handrail, a woman with short blonde hair wearing a rust orange jacket and wide leg trousers walks to the right. Directly behind her on the off white pebbledash wall, two faint silhouetted street art mural appear to walk in the same direction, creating a layered visual effect. The upper portion of the background consists of a dark, aggregate stone textured wall framed by a thin green and white decorative line.

#BlueSkyArtShow For this wk's #3rdPlace theme, my happy place: the streets in front of cool #architecture, esp. before my beloved #skyscrapers, with my camera in hand. #ClassicMono #StreetPhotography #LightAndShadow #UrbanGaze #Photography #Photographers #BWPhotography #BnW #ECK #GeometricShapes
An upwards-looking, low-angle, vertical black-and-white photograph captures a soaring modernist skyscraper with a complex, geometric glass-paneled facade. The architecture features a stepped design where a wide, grid-like lower structure sharply recedes, giving way to a narrow, soaring tower that climbs dramatically toward the top of the frame. In terms of photographic style, the image uses high-contrast monochrome tones and intense, low-angle perspective to emphasize the building's monumental scale and sharp lines. The striking nature of the building comes from its deeply reflective surfaces, creating strong light contrasts as dark, grid-patterned glass mirrors soft white clouds, juxtaposing rigid industrial engineering with the organic movement of the sky.
