moon #Photography #ECK #ClassicMono #BlackAndWhitePhotography #Lumix
A black and white, square format photograph featuring a crescent moon illuminated in a dark, overcast sky. The illuminated portion of the moon faces right, glowing brightly against subtle, soft cloud textures that stretch horizontally across the frame. Along the bottom third of the image, a dark hill crest and a tree line of conifers are rendered in complete silhouette, alongside several distant utility poles. The composition has a high contrast, atmospheric, and quiet mood.

A hig hcontrast monochrome close up photograph of a metallic camera mode dial positioned on the right side of a dark camera body. The circular dial features knurled, vertically ridged edges and engraved mode letters including P, A, S, M, and SCN. Strong side lighting highlights the metallic texture of the dial and creates a high-contrast gradient, with bright specular highlights on top of the dial contrasting sharply against deep shadows on the left and background. The image is framed within a white border, emphasizing a moody, tactile aesthetic

#BlueSkyArtShow #Walls "Sky Dance" celebrates 3 top soloist #ballerinas in mid-leap in a msg of joy & female empowerment on a 30000 sq ft wall. (More fun nerdy details in AltTxt) #ECK #ColorADay #UrbanGaze #StreetPhotography #Photography #Photographers #Skyscrapers #Architecture #Murals #StreetArt
The mural was created by C. Finley. Google has such fun (nerdy details) that I will let them explain:

Finley is "an internationally acclaimed visual artist renowned for her elaborate geometric paintings, vivid use of color, and street art activism."

Finley was commissioned by the WEDGE Group, an investment firm that owned the building.

She began by mapping out the colossal project "using a powerful 6,000-lumen projector from the fifth floor of an adjacent parking garage to trace the initial outlines onto the wall at night. She then executed the painting alongside a specialized crew of commercial window washers utilizing hydraulic boom lifts, using roughly 80 to 100 gallons of paint."

The three colorful, soaring figures leaping across the blue canvas are not abstract shapes—they are directly modeled after three real-life, professional dancers from the Houston Ballet:

• Mónica Gómez (Soloist)
• Nozomi Iijima (First Soloist)
• Allison Miller (First Soloist)

The figures are depicted mid-flight performing a jeté en avant (a classic grand ballet leap), seamlessly blending athletic power with high grace.

Finley designed the mural to evoke themes of joy, empowerment, and femininity, transforming a cold corporate landscape into a vibrant tribute to Houston's arts and culture."

Visually, this is a low-angle, upwards-looking, vertical photo captures a vibrant, multi-story mural of three colorful, stylized dancers in mid-leap against a brilliant blue, tiled backdrop, contrasting sharply with the warm, rust-terracotta-orange skyscraper rising steeply behind it. The architectural lines of the modern tower form a dramatic grid of rows and columns that converge as they stretch toward a bright sky dotted with wispy white clouds. The intense, high-contrast lighting accentuates the vivid blues, reds, and yellows of the mural's figures while deepening the shadows along the building's structural panels, emphasizing both the dynamic artistic energy of the foreground and the rigid…

#ModernArt "Argente:" Proof that functional furniture & crafts can be high art, not to mention brutalist & abstract expressionism! (More in AltTxt.) #AlphabetChallenge #WeekOforOpaque #ClassicMono #BWFri #ColorADay #Photography #Photographers #UrbanGaze #BnWphotography #MuseumArt #LightAndShadow
A close-up cropped image showcasing a small section of the "Argente" Two-Door Cabinet, a masterful mid-century piece created circa 1968 by the prominent American sculptor & furniture designer Paul Evans. Blurring the line between functional furniture and fine art, the cabinet features an intricate, abstract facade crafted from welded and etched aluminum accented with dark, patinated detailing that contrasts with bold clusters of hand-pushed circular forms and dynamic organic lines.

As Sotheby's & Google explain, "Evans was a central figure in the mid-century American Craft Movement. His work intentionally blurred the lines between fine art and furniture design, treating functional home items as canvas-like surfaces for brutalist and abstract-expressionist metalwork.

Each of the abstract organic patterns, textured circular rings, and undulating forms were meticulously handcrafted. Evans achieved this unique surface look by welding, incising, and acid-etching aluminum, which was then combined with enameled steel components."

Visually, this BnW photo shows an abstract, monochromatic textured artwork presented in high-contrast black, white, and shades of gray. The composition is split vertically down the center into two roughly symmetrical, mirroring panels. Each side features dense, organic, hourglass-shaped clusters filled with thousands of tiny, overlapping pebble-like circles. These pebbled forms are framed by sweeping, wavy, ribbon-like bands that curve vertically through the space. The background is divided into geometric sections containing fine, radiating straight lines that resemble spiderwebs or starbursts, juxtaposed against solid black voids and highly textured, scratched metallic surfaces.

"Volare" Nel Blu Dipinto di Blu Table 19 has the best view on the water #EastCoastKin #Photography #Scape #LandscapePhotography #Leica #PhotographersofBlueSky #PhotographersUnited #Cafescape
A scalloped mustard-yellow awning, creased and weathered, spans the top of the frame. A dark cast-iron post rises along the right edge, its fluted base spotted with rust. Below, a small square table with a dark stone top and teal mat holds a white napkin dispenser with a red illy logo and the number 19, next to a glass ashtray. Cream mesh-metal chairs flank the table, one blurred in the near foreground. Beyond a stone-paved quay, calm teal water ripples toward pink, cream and ochre lakefront buildings with terracotta roofs and moored boats. Behind them a steep hillside is packed with dark green trees and tall cypresses, lit by warm low sun.

The image is built in layers: awning above, table and chairs below, and the water and village held between them. The awning, post and chair backs frame the view, while the sharp table anchors the eye and the soft chair and distant hillside recede. A tight palette of teal water, ochre canvas and pastel facades reads as calm analogous harmony, with the yellow awning as the single strong warm accent. The empty table is the subject, a place held open for someone who hasn’t arrived yet.
