Kinda like how in some games if you clip the camera out of bounds and stare into the void, you can see repeated previous frames, because the game isn't re-rendering those parts of the frames frames. DLSS is just doing that all the time to the whole screen. www.reddit.com/r/gamedev/co...

It was a very common to do on the N64 because of rendering and memory limitations. These days, it's probably less deliberate; it may just be that the game stopped rendering new frames to screen while paused, which USUALLY means the previous frame just stays how it is, but DLSS is messing that up.

Tustin2121 @tustin2121.bsky.social · 10/09/2026
So I guess DLSS is operating on the framebuffer image the game is using, which... would be the output of the previous frame that DLSS already processed. Hence, hallucinatory death spiral. That's not to say DLSS 5 isn't terrible. It definitely is.

Tustin2121 @tustin2121.bsky.social · 10/09/2026
I imagine that's because it's a pause screen. Some games will just take a frame buffer capture of the current view of the game to show behind the pause menu UI, especially if the style of the UI is to post-process the image, like blurring it and making it black and white.

This is pretty fucking wild. I had assumed in a worst case scenario he would target blue zip codes and toss ballots based on technicalities but this is even worse than I imagined.
Not only is this system astonishingly untested, USPS has simultaneously implemented an
impracticable zero percent failure rate.
13 When ballots are submitted to USPS in large-volume
batches, if any one ballot in the batch cannot be verified against the Portal, all ballots in that
batch will be rejected. For example, if a state election official brings a batch of 10,000 ballots to
USPS and USPS is unable to match just one of those ballots against the Portal – because, for
example, someone has recently changed their name after marriage or they’ve moved – then
USPS would refuse to mail the remaining 9,999 ballots as well. As the whistleblower notes,

The Missouri Attorney General is threatening librarians with arrest over an LGBTQ+ story hour for kids, suggesting that a picture book about gay dinosaur dads is "pornography." The Secretary of State says he'll pull funding if the event happens, citing the state's new age verification law.
Boone Regional Library in Columbia is hosting a “queer-led story time” directed to toddlers and preschoolers, with time to “meet new friends” afterwards.

We’ve sent a notice to the library reminding them that providing pornography or sexual material to minors is against Missouri law.
